  • Oversee agency-client contracts, vendor agreements, and talent releases, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
  • Identify and mitigate legal, financial, and operational risks while maximizing opportunities for agency growth.
  • Live Action Production: review all client and vendor agreements, review storyboards for advertising and legal issues, and work with the internal team and insurance broker to ensure adequate insurance is in place, including special reviews where stunts, animals, and minors are involved.
  • Ensure the company has a current minor permit in applicable jurisdictions.
  • Work closely with internal teams, including finance, to ensure adequate payment processes and that the company has funds in-house to support production(s).
  • Oversee internal training for production, asset purchasing, talent, and fonts.

Global Business Affairs Strategy

  • Develop and ensure best practices for multi-regional contracts, intellectual property rights, and third-party stock, music, and footage licensing.
  • Partner with internal teams and external counsel to navigate challenges in international business affairs.
  • Ensure adherence to advertising laws, union regulations (SAG-AFTRA, ACTRA, AICP, DGA, etc.), and evolving digital media policies.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with creative, production, finance, and client service teams to support business objectives.
  • Advise internal stakeholders on global marketing campaigns' deal structures, financial implications, and legal guardrails.
  • Provide guidance on emerging issues in digital content, influencer agreements, and AI-generated media.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in business affairs, legal, or contract management within an entertainment marketing agency, film/TV studio, or media company.
  • Proven track record of handling global partnerships and multi-organization collaborations.

  • Experience with union regulations, music/media licensing, and brand integration deals.
  • Exceptional negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work across multiple time zones and cultures, managing complex global relationships.

Preferred Skills

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
