Acorns is on a mission to create a financial wellness system for the whole family, creating compounding growth at every life stage. From your first paycheck, to the money you save and invest for your kids, to retirement, and beyond. In a world where investing feels complicated, risky, and like it’s only for the rich, we want to put the responsible tools of wealth making in the hands of everyone.

Acorns is looking for a Brand Marketing Manager who’s excited to build a brand that stands for something bigger — financial wellness for everyone. In this role, you’ll lead integrated campaigns that don’t just market a product — they tell a story, spark action, and make our mission feel personal to millions. You’ll help shape the voice of a brand that’s redefining how families think about money, working with a team that values bold ideas, creative collaboration, and purpose-driven storytelling.

This role reports to the Director of Brand Marketing.

Acorns is a remote-first organization, offering the flexibility to work remotely while providing optional access to office space in Irvine, CA.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Lead the development and execution of integrated marketing campaigns across various channels (digital, social, email, in-app, PR, partnerships, and more.) to enhance brand awareness, consideration, and understanding of Acorns' value proposition.

  • Collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams, including Product, Creative, Education, Analytics, Legal, and Compliance, to ensure brand consistency and successful campaign delivery.

  • Consistently bring fresh, innovative, and highly creative ideas to the table for creative concepts, brand activations, and more.

  • Work closely with the Creative and Marketing team to craft compelling brand narratives and messaging that resonates with our target audiences and clearly articulates Acorns' mission and benefits

  • Be on the pulse of market trends, competitor activities, and consumer insights to identify new opportunities and optimize brand strategies.

  • Define key performance indicators (KPIs) for brand initiatives, track performance, analyze results, and provide actionable insights to continuously improve campaign effectiveness.

  • Partner with external agencies and vendors as needed, managing relationships and ensuring high-quality deliverables.

  • Champion brand guidelines internally and externally, ensuring consistency in voice, tone, and visual identity across all marketing touchpoints.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in brand marketing, social media, or similar roles

  • Proven experience managing complex, multi-channel marketing campaigns from inception to completion.

  • Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong collaborative spirit and proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and compelling storytelling.

  • Analytical capabilities to comfortably use data analysis to inform strategy and measure performance.

  • Demonstrated understanding of consumer behavior and brand building principles, and how to apply those to marketing strategies.

  • Exceptional writing and storytelling skills—you craft compelling messages and have a portfolio that shows off a strong brand voice and eye for visuals.

  • Creative and strategic thinking—you’re always asking, What’s next? What should we be doing that we aren’t?

  • A self-starter mindset—you can ideate, produce, and that connects with our audience across platforms.

  • Deep empathy and passion for our customer and their experience with Acorns

  • Exceptional change management capabilities - Comfortable with ambiguity and constant change with the ability to work through complex problems, set priorities, and execute commitments

  • Thirst for delivering game-changing products

  • Exceptional drive and precision in delivery

  • A belief that your work is tied to your life's mission

  • Optimistic about the potential of societal change

You are not expected to have experience with all listed requirements. If you feel passionate about Acorns' mission, vision, and values, please apply.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
