The Marketing Manager for the Shark team will be responsible for driving growth of the portfolio through breakthrough innovation and communications. In this role, you will develop a category innovation pipeline, from concept development to execution, and lead cross functional teams through the commercialization process. This includes driving consistency in voice, tone and message across all channels (i.e. packaging, advertising, PR, social, web content, collateral, trade). You will contribute effectively to the development of brand strategy, help shape the marketing plan and ensure excellence of execution in market to deliver upon category goals.
Here are some of the EXCITING things you'll get to do:
  • Working with the Product Development and Creative Services teams, lead the development and execution of new product innovation strategies and go-to-market plans - specifically, message development and execution for packaging, digital, & in-store assets
  • Drive a consumer-first mentality to develop relevant messaging that delivers clear consumer understanding of products and brand
  • Manage creative development processes (i.e. timeline, approvals, protocols), ensuring thorough reviews & eventual leadership alignment
  • Partner with Consumer Insights to build a clear learning agenda for the assigned category and NPDs to ensure product launches are set up for success
  • Be the category expert: understand price, positioning, competitive landscape, and market needs - digest insights, connect the dots, summarize conclusions, and recommend a product roadmap strategy that will drive a high rate of sale
  • Develop category/brand positioning strategies, portfolio architecture, and breakthrough claims with the goal of increasing marketability and maximizing sales
  • Communicate the value proposition of new products to the Sales teams and develop the tools that enable sell-in
  • Work with Sales and Trade Marketing to develop breakthrough sell-in stories and in-store merchandising
  • Conduct post-launch analysis of marketing activities, recommending improvements and evolutions of future brand activity

ATTRIBUTES & SKILLS:
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of prior Marketing experience required, preferably with direct responsibility for brand strategy, messaging, positioning, and innovation planning and execution
  • Minimum 3 years of prior experience in Consumer Packaged Goods
  • Experience leveraging consumer insights to develop effective marketing programs and campaigns
  • Experience in creative strategy development, advertising and launching new products
  • Degree in Marketing or related field, or equivalent; MBA preferred
