About the role

The Brand Manager - Partner Relations & Content Marketing plays a key role in enabling key IPs and licensors to thrive in our streaming and other omni-channel experiences as a part of IP Strategy & Development function within the team. In this role, you will be a key stakeholder between our internal teams to ultimately drive and enable marketing collaborations. 

  • Deeply understand your assigned IPs by reading and researching the original sources to enable strong marketing collaborations that resonate with the IP.
  • Develop IP marketing plans and strategies before acquisition to the end of the IP’s terms while cross collaborating within the Partner Relations & Content Marketing team and internal teams.
  • Oversee the exploitation and use of the IP’s likeness and coordinate key marketing beats with the Partner Relations team and Licensors.
  • Coordinate marketing promotions at events/conventions supporting our partners and talent.
  • Present IP marketing plans to Licensors in partnership with the Partner Relations team.
  • Lead the cross-functional efforts for your assigned IPs and strategize promotions to keep the IP active and relevant.

As a Brand Manager, you will report to the Director, IP Strategy & Development.

We are considering applicants local to our Los Angeles or Dallas office.

About You
  • 5+ years of work experience developing long-term marketing plans and promotions for Japanese IP
  • 3+ years of cross-functional collaboration and department experience
  • Time management experience; such as utilizing tools and processes to maintain and track multiple projects in various stages of completion and progress
  • Well-organized and detailed oriented, self-driven and own and manage your deliverables without intervention
  • Enjoy reading and consuming content in various formats regularly: manga, anime, light novels, webtoon, video games, etc.
  • Ability to be flexible and to change directions quickly, able to adapt to a fast-paced environment and deal with ambiguity
  • Experience working with partners from different cultural backgrounds, particularly Japanese business culture
  • Experience collaborating with a diverse and multi-functional team 
  • Practiced curiosity; be an avid learner, open to taking on new challenges and tackling tasks outside of your comfort zone
  • Experience with written and verbal communication
  • Proficient in either Mac or PC, comfortable navigating software outside of Microsoft Office / Google Apps suites

The Partner Relations & Content Marketing team expects that our streaming and other omni-channels enjoy healthy growth to scale and engage, are attractive to licensors and their representatives, are credible with audiences, and set the pace for the rest of the industry. The position requires strong partnership and collaboration with our creators/licensors in Japan, and global teams in marketing, communications, content, business development, and product. The Pay Range for this position is listed. Actual pay will vary based on factors including, but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Crunchyroll’s Total Rewards offerings for employees.
