Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Brand Marketing

· Strategy - create marketing and sales strategy, including three-tier sales and programs, creative development, public relations, winemaker travel, and event marketing

· Communication - develop, implement, and clearly communicate brand marketing objectives, strategies, programs, and tactics for all assigned wine brands; maintain and update all wine and brand information in Salsify; key contact for import winery partners

· Pricing – develop and maintain pricing files; sets and implements three-tier (wholesale) pricing, price programming, and manages Tradeparency price programming approvals

· Product – responsible for managing inventory levels and product mix

· Brand standards – Implement winery partner brand standards to provide consistent messaging, imagery, and quality cues

· Work with outside agencies to manage marketing materials to brand standards

· Promotion –develop trade promotions and marketing programs that drive sales within established annual budget

· Events – works with sales team and winery partners on market work - winemaker dinners, distributor training, new product launches, and trade shows

· Reporting - prepare and present regular business reviews for import partners


Portfolio Planning

· Planning process - creates wholesale brand plan consistent w/sales objectives; conduct category/brand/competitive set analysis to support strategic planning process

· Brand budgets – establish brand marketing budgets for assigned brands and track and evaluate brand spending / profitability

· Operations – involved with operations team for item-set-ups, purchase orders, and compliance at the national level

· Apply strong financial context to decision making, preparing reports & presentations


Qualifications

• Five years of work experience with three years in the wine industry

• Advanced financial acumen with a track record of market analysis, budget management, and strategic planning

• Knowledge of 3-tier distribution system a plus

• Strong strategic skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment

• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365 Office applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, etc.) to create thorough and clear analyses and persuasive presentations and recommendations

• Bachelor’s Degree with course work in business/marketing or equivalent experience a plus

• Ability to perform basic business and wine industry computations such as currency exchange rates, discounts, commissions, and margins

• Demonstrated analytical skills with experience in forecasting and marketing research

• Strong people skills and intellectual curiosity are preferred

• Experience with Adobe Suite preferred

• We are a small office so this role will serve as a support role for a diverse range of marketing department projects

This position will be based in our St. Helena, CA office. Expected salary range is $100K - $115K, plus potential annual discretionary bonus.

Shown pay range represents what we reasonably expect to pay for this position, however the actual compensation offered will depend on multiple job-related factors, including but not limited to candidate qualifications, skills, experience, education, location, and alignment with market data. The company reserves the right to modify the range in the future.
