Own Pairs’ public brand presence across AI assistants, search, press, directories, and reputation channels. Create citable content, improve search and AI visibility, secure earned media, maintain consistent company information, and measure results through qualified conversations. The role requires hands-on writing, media pitching, SEO fundamentals, startup and venture knowledge, and disciplined use of AI tools. It is fully remote and asynchronous with limited daily overlap with US Eastern time.

We are hiring a Brand Lead to own how Pairs shows up wherever a founder or investor looks us up: AI assistants, search, the press, and every page in between.

Pairs is a global network of family offices, institutional investors, VCs and angels. We screen deal flow very tightly, and the opportunities that clear our diligence go out to the network. We invest alongside them too.

THE ROLE

Founders and investors research us before they speak to us. They ask ChatGPT and Perplexity, they read the AI summary at the top of a Google search, and they check what the press and directories say. This role owns all of it.

You build the public record: the pages AI engines cite, the coverage that carries our story, and one consistent set of facts across every directory. The goal is not a ranking. It is being the source others quote when someone asks how raising capital works.

You write the work yourself, place it yourself, and measure it against the conversations it brings in, not impressions.

You report to the two co-founders and work alongside the rest of our brand and content team. The organisation is flat, and the public record of this company is yours to build.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN

  • The citable layer. Answer pages, comparison pages and a newsroom, written so AI engines and journalists quote Pairs as the source.

  • Search and AI visibility. The technical foundations of our site, the content built on top of them, and regular reporting on where Pairs appears.

  • Earned media. Trade press, newsletters and podcasts, pitched and landed by you.

  • The company record. One description of Pairs, identical on every platform and directory, and kept that way.

  • Reputation. Public sentiment handled calmly and by each platform's rules, and answered with better sources.

YOU ARE A FIT IF YOU

  • Have made a named brand show up in AI answers or search, and can show the before and after: pages you wrote that get cited, and the numbers behind them.

  • Understand why AI engines and journalists trust one source over another, and have hands-on grounding in search fundamentals such as site structure and schema.

  • Have pitched and landed coverage yourself. Work an agency placed for you does not count here.

  • Write to a high standard in a restrained register, with published pages that answer directly and concede honestly.

  • Know the startup and venture world: how a round works, the different investor types, and what founders and allocators look for.

  • Use AI tools daily, with clear judgement about where they improve your work and where they would compromise its quality.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Fully remote and asynchronous, with a few hours of overlap with US Eastern time each day

  • Direct access to the co-founders, and real ownership of the public record

  • The best AI tools, paid for

  • A brand presence that is yours to build and measure

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
