PlayOn Sports is the largest platform for high school sports in the US, reaching millions of fans, parents, coaches, and student athletes across NFHS Network, MaxPreps, and GoFan. As we continue to unify GoFan, NFHS, and MaxPreps from a brand perspective, our creative team is searching for a Brand Designer to join us in our mission to be the only destination for all things high school sports.
This Brand Designer lives and breathes graphic design, motion, and digital culture. You aren't just creating "pretty things"; you are building a visual system that helps our content feel branded and authentic. Whether it’s a new logo for a social series or a high-energy motion graphic for a highlight reel, you’ll be the gatekeeper of the NFHS Network visual identity as well as MaxPreps content.
The outcomes you’ll deliver:
-Elevate the brand perception of the NFHS Network and MaxPreps by delivering high-quality, consistent visual assets across all social and internal channels.
In this role, you can expect to
- Design for Social First: Create branded social templates, custom logos for original series, and engaging static assets for TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube.
- Bring Brand to Life with Motion: Develop motion graphics elements, including lower thirds, title cards, transitions, and animated overlays, to make our video content feel like a major sports broadcast.
- Own Presentation Design: Elevate our internal and external storytelling by designing presentations and pitch decks for partnerships and brand pitches.
- Build Visual Identity Systems: Help maintain and expand our brand guidelines, ensuring colors, typography, and logos are used correctly across all touchpoints.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with the Social Media and Performance Marketing teams to implement insights into creative that actually converts.
- Stay Ahead of the Curve: Proactively research design trends and emerging social formats to keep our brand relevant to Gen Z and Millennial audiences.
To thrive in this role, you have
- 3-6 years of experience in brand design, digital design, or social content creation (agency or in-house).
- A Killer Portfolio: Show us you can handle logo design, typography, and layout, with a heavy emphasis on social media and motion work.
- Technical Mastery: High proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator), Figma, and After Effects for motion graphics.
- Social Fluency: An innate understanding of what works on TikTok vs. Instagram vs. YouTube—and the ability to design specifically for those nuances.
- Speed and Precision: The ability to balance high-quality craftsmanship with the fast-paced nature of an in-house creative team, manage deadlines, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Passion for High School Sports! You understand why a buzzer-beater in a small-town gym matters just as much as a pro championship.
HOW YOU PLAY
- Ownership over Participation - You take responsibility for achieving holistic outcomes, prioritize key objectives, and adapt quickly when situations require a different approach. You follow through even against the toughest challenges.
- Team over Stars - You are a bridge builder, establishing processes and relationships with teams outside your own. You work to rally around common goals, find win-win solutions, compromise when necessary, and help others succeed.
- Growth over Comfort - You are driven by a desire to grow and actively seek opportunities to expand your comfort zone, skills, and confidence. You embrace new challenges with curiosity, accepting discomfort and failure as opportunities to learn.
- Fairness over Popularity - You approach decisions with a scientist’s mindset, challenging your assumptions and remaining objective. You consider long-term impact rather than relying on short-term gains, proactively seek others’ perspectives, and manage emotions in decision-making.
