Execute and maintain Astrolab’s visual brand across digital, print, physical, hardware, social, proposal, and presentation assets. Design product markings, warning labels, mission patches, merchandise, and technical graphics while ensuring brand and regulatory consistency. Manage the graphics library and PowerPoint templates, collaborate with creative and marketing leaders, and propose new applications of the brand system. Requires strong execution, creative judgment, and experience across established brand systems.
Astrolab is The Lunar Operations Company. We design and build the systems and hardware the lunar economy will come to depend on — rovers, power, and data networks for sustained operations on the Moon. We are focused on the problems that must be solved before the next chapter of human exploration can scale. The Moon does not forgive untested assumptions. The people who work here know that, and they wouldn't have it any other way.
As our Brand Designer, you are the person who makes Astrolab look like Astrolab, every single day, across every single touchpoint. We are building a creative monopoly inside the aerospace industry. That sounds ambitious because it is. And it starts here, with this role.
This is an execution-first position. You will be holding the brand standard on everything from a mission patch to a label on space hardware. No design project is too small to be considered. You understand that the sticker on a toolbox, an OOH billboard, and the slide in an investor deck are all expressions of the same brand world, and both deserve the same care.
But this is not a job for someone who waits for direction. We want someone who knows the brand system inside and out and then pushes it, takes risks within the system, finds the edges, and occasionally shows us something we didn't know we needed. We are building a brand world that talent and vendors want to be a part of. That only happens through curation at every touchpoint, and that curation starts with you.
What you'll do:
Brand Execution
- Daily Design Output: Turn around design requests with precision, brand consistency, and pace; internal comms, experiential graphics, agency & government proposals visuals, investor visuals, social and web assets, and everything in between
- Print & Physical: Design stickers, posters, merch, smocks, toolboxes, mission patches, and physical brand expressions that make Astrolab's identity tangible in the real world
- Product & Hardware Graphics: Design hardware icons, warning labels, product markings, and technical graphic elements that meet both brand and regulatory standards
- Social & Digital: Produce a steady stream of social media graphics, campaign assets, and digital content that maintains a consistent visual identity across all platforms
Brand System Stewardship
- Graphics Library: Build and maintain a comprehensive library of brand assets, icons, templates, and graphic elements for use by the broader team and external partners
- Brand Consistency: Act as the day-to-day guardian of the Astrolab visual identity — ensuring that every piece of design output, regardless of who requested it or how small it seems, reflects the brand standard
- Deck & Template Management: Own the Astrolab PowerPoint and presentation template system, updating and evolving it as the brand grows
Creative Contribution
- Brand Stretching: Bring a point of view Propose new applications of the brand system, identify opportunities to push the visual language, and occasionally show the team something they didn't know they needed
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Senior Creative Designer, Fractional Chief Creative Director and Head of Marketing to ensure your output is aligned with the broader creative vision
