Figma is growing our team of passionate creatives and builders on a mission to make design accessible to all. Figma’s platform helps teams bring ideas to life—whether you're brainstorming, creating a prototype, translating designs into code, or iterating with AI. From idea to product, Figma empowers teams to streamline workflows, move faster, and work together in real time from anywhere in the world. If you're excited to shape the future of design and collaboration, join us!

We’re looking for a Communications Designer to push the expectations of corporate communications and set a high bar for how we visually tell stories at Figma. In this role, you’ll experiment with different formats and mediums, finding compelling, unexpected ways to bring clarity and energy to our internal and external comms collateral. From executive presentations to internal initiatives to external announcements, you’ll ensure that even the most straightforward communications feel fresh, engaging, and unmistakably Figma.

This is a full time role that can be held from one of our US hubs or remotely in the United States.

What you’ll do at Figma:
  • Conceptualize and design communications that push beyond typical corporate formats, making even straightforward messages feel engaging and uniquely Figma
  • Work directly with executive leadership to develop presentations, reports, and storytelling materials for both internal and external audiences
  • Experiment with different mediums and formats—from motion to interactive—to create fresh, compelling ways of sharing information
  • Build scalable design systems and templates that enable others to maintain our craft and quality expectations
  • Partner with key cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and consistency across all communication efforts
  • Support high-visibility announcements and internal initiatives, distilling complex ideas into simple, visually engaging narratives
  • Champion brand consistency across all communication touchpoints, evolving our brand voice through design
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
  • A strong portfolio showcasing work in brand, communication, or visual design
  • Experience bringing corporate communications to life in unique and compelling ways
  • A keen eye for typography, layout, and visual storytelling
  • Comfort working across different mediums, from static to interactive to motion
  • The ability to distill complex ideas into simple, engaging visuals
  • Experience working closely with leadership and cross-functional teams
While not required, it’s an added plus if you also have:
  • Experience designing for executive communications or internal storytelling
  • Familiarity with motion design or interactive media
  • A background in editorial, presentation, or information design
At Figma, one of our values is Grow as you go. We believe in hiring smart, curious people who are excited to learn and develop their skills. If you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with the points outlined in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyways. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
