The ideal candidate is a creative visionary with a passion for sports, live events, and design, capable of translating marketing objectives into stunning campaigns that resonate with a global audience.

This role requires a leader who can take command of the creative process, guide and mentor a team to elevated success, and deliver world-class results. You’ll be the ultimate teammate, collaborating with department leaders while also demonstrating engaging thought leadership in client presentations.

  • Execute and implement various creative assets, upholding brand guidelines and ensuring a demonstrated attention to detail in proofing all files for correct specs, colors, copy, and more.

  • Problem-solve and pivot quickly in a nimble, fast-paced environment, effectively navigating internal and external feedback.

  • Liaise with department leaders, internal contacts, and production teams to review project briefs, determine content needs, and align on creative direction.

  • Confidently present and pitch concepts to internal and external teams, walking them through ideas, concepts, and creative solutions.

  • Manage and mentor junior to mid-level designers, fostering their growth and ensuring the team's success.

  • Uphold the highest standards of the organization and represent the team with professionalism.

  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail in proofing of all print and digital files for correct specs, colors, copy, links, spelling, etc.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years’ creative and/or art direction experience with a focus on sports.

  • A strong conceptually-driven portfolio of work that provides examples of live venue presentation, design and animation, A/V, wayfinding, OOH, and social media marketing.

  • Demonstrated command of composition, color, motion theory, and design thinking.

  • A mastery of Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Proficiency with After Effects and Premiere is a valuable plus.

  • Experience managing and mentoring junior to mid-level designers.

  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with experiential and production teams to develop environmental activations.

  • Strong communication skills with a demonstrated ability to present, pitch, and navigate client feedback.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field preferred.

  • Working knowledge of live-action production and VFX a plus.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
