Bookkeeper/General Accountant Job Responsibilities 

  • Familiarity with standard concepts, practice, and procedures in accounting.  
  • Experience performing basic accounting functions such as cash receipts, A/R, A/P, deposits, bank reconciliations, and GL reconciliation. 
  • Proficiency in Excel spreadsheet creation and maintenance.  
  • Performs work accurately and has the ability to meet strict deadlines.  
  • Journal entries and complex data entry projects.  
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to support customer, store, and departmental related questions. 
  • Ability to work well in a team environment 

Inventory & Dealership Support 

  • Enter and maintain new vehicle inventory records 
  • Process used vehicle purchases 
  • Ensure accuracy of inventory data across systems 

System & Schedule Maintenance 

  • Maintain and update internal schedules (65 & 69 reports via CTRL) 
  • Support general system updates and data accuracy 

Bookkeeper/General Accounting Compensation and Benefits 

The Bookkeeper/General Accounting Position has a Pay Scale consisting of the following elements and ranges.   

  • Wages include Base Hourly Compensation of between $23.00 and $25.00.

Qualifications

Bookkeeper/General Accountant Qualifications  

  • Accounting Degree preferred, or equivalent 2 years combination of education, training, and experience (reconciliation, bank, inventory, factory, and GL). 
  • Automotive Experience preferred 
  • Previous bookkeeping experience preferred 
  • Advanced Excel with pivot tables 
  • Journal Vouchers 
  • Heavy reconciliation 
  • Experience using a dealership management system (DMS) and payroll platform Kronos and Era-Ignite 
  • Self-starter who can work both independently and with a team 
  • Excellent organizational skills 
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a proficient knowledge of: 
    • Excel 
    • Word 
    • Outlook  
    • Access
