Blockchain Engineer — Ecosystem Research & Business Exploration
About the Role
Working closely with the BNB Chain core team, we investigate emerging use cases, build hands-on prototypes and experiments, and translate our findings into actionable technical insights that shape the direction of BNB Chain's infrastructure and ecosystem.
This is a fully remote role suited for early-career engineers who are curious, hands-on, and motivated by the challenge of figuring out where blockchain technology can create genuine business value. There is no single prescribed domain — the scope evolves as we learn, and we expect you to help define it.
What You'll Do
Explore and experiment with blockchain use cases across a range of business scenarios, building prototypes and tooling to validate ideas in practice
Research on-chain ecosystems, protocols, and emerging trends to identify opportunities where BNB Chain infrastructure can better serve real business needs
Synthesize findings into clear technical reports and directional recommendations for the BNB Chain core team
Collaborate closely with protocol and product teams to ensure research insights feed into infrastructure decisions
Stay current with developments across the broader Web3 ecosystem — protocols, applications, and business models
What We're Looking For
1–5 years of engineering experience, with a solid foundation in backend or systems development (Go, Rust, or Python preferred)
Basic understanding of how blockchain works — transaction lifecycle, smart contracts, EVM, or equivalent
Curiosity-driven mindset: comfortable with ambiguity, eager to explore unfamiliar territory, and able to learn by doing
Ability to structure research findings and communicate them clearly
Self-motivated and able to work independently in a fully remote setting
Nice to Have
Hands-on experience with any blockchain ecosystem (BNB Chain, Ethereum, Solana, etc.)
Familiarity with DeFi, trading infrastructure, payments, AI applications, or other on-chain business verticals
Experience with on-chain data analysis or smart contract development
Background in quantitative analysis, data engineering, or financial systems
