The annual base salary for this position ranges from $64,600.00 to $107,600.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 7.5% of the base salary. How You Will Achieve It
- Support generation of metabolites for NMR characterization by incubating drug candidates in microsomal and/or hepatocyte systems
- Support analysis of metabolites using analytical HPLC/MS and metabolite isolation using preparative HPLC
- Acquire, process and interpret both 1D and 2D NMR spectra-such as 1H, 13C, COSY, HSQC, HMBC, and NOESY-to determine metabolite structures
- Use 1H and 19F qNMR to measure the concentration of these isolates
- Additionally, the candidate will work with LC-MS/MS data to provide orthogonal structural confirmation of drug metabolites
- Document experimental results, perform critical review of data, and present findings internally and externally
- Interact with peers and leaders in a multidisciplinary team
Qualifications
Must-Have
- B.S. in Biochemistry or Chemistry
- Familiarity with in vitro laboratory techniques
- Coursework and practical lab experience with 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopy
- Solid grasp of organic chemistry and structure-activity relationships
- Research or internship background in pharma, biotech, or CRO
- Experience with qualitative and quantitative NMR software (e.g., MestReNova, TopSpin)
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to data integrity
- Able to work independently and collaboratively
- Effective scientific communication skills
- Familiarity with troubleshooting of instrumentation
- A commitment to timely delivery of quality work and overcoming obstacles in a fast-paced environment
Nice-to-Have
- Familiarity with LC-MS/HRMS and metabolite profiling
- A basic understanding of drug metabolism pathways (Phase I/II)
- An Undergraduate thesis/capstone involving NMR structural characterization
