About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Computer Vision Engineering Intern to join our innovative team. This is an exciting opportunity for a current student or recent graduate passionate about AI, computer vision, and cutting-edge technology to gain hands-on experience while contributing to real-world projects. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers, learn from industry leaders, and help advance our computer vision capabilities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

    •    Support the development and optimization of computer vision models to enhance our product features.
    •    Write clean, efficient Python code using modern frameworks such as PyTorch (and TensorFlow where relevant) for model training, inference, and deployment.
    •    Assist with integrating computer vision solutions into existing systems and workflows.
    •    Stay curious about the latest advancements in computer vision, large language models (LLMs), and multimodal AI, and share fresh ideas with the team.
    •    Participate in code reviews, stand-ups, and team discussions to build strong engineering practices.
    •    Contribute to research experiments and help translate promising ideas into practical prototypes.
    •    Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, product, data) in an agile setting.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Solid understanding of computer vision fundamentals (e.g., object detection, image segmentation, feature extraction) and exposure to LLMs or multimodal models.
  • Proficiency in Python and experience (or strong interest) with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
  • Familiarity with KYC pipelines, document analysis, or OCR processes is a strong plus.
  • Any personal projects, GitHub contributions, Kaggle competitions, or academic research in computer vision is highly valued.

Nice to have:

  • Experience building agentic AI systems — autonomous agents that can reason, plan, and act across tools and workflows.
  • Hands-on exposure to model deployment (e.g., ONNX, TorchServe, or cloud inference).
  • Basic knowledge of MLOps practices, version control (Git), and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure).
  • Skills and Attributes
    •    Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving mindset.
    •    Eagerness to learn quickly and adapt in a dynamic startup-like environment.
    •    Excellent communication skills — both verbal and written.
    •    Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while thriving in a collaborative team.
    •    Passion for AI innovation and a proactive, ownership-oriented attitude.

What You’ll Gain
•    Real-world experience shipping computer vision features.
•    Mentorship from senior engineers and exposure to production-grade AI systems.
•    Opportunity to work on impactful projects at the intersection of vision and language models.
This internship is ideal for someone who wants to accelerate their career in AI and computer vision while making meaningful contributions from day one.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
