The Billing Specialist is responsible for executing billing operations supporting our Australian business unit, ensuring accurate, timely invoicing and effective resolution of discrepancies. This role plays a critical part in revenue accuracy by maintaining high-quality billing records and supporting month-end close activities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.  

This U.S. based role requires occasional collaboration with Australian counterparts, including participation in meetings outside standard U.S. business hours. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Process, review and issue a high volume of invoices and credit adjustments ensuring accuracy, timeliness and proper documentation. 
  • Perform data entry, validation, and reconciliation, including cross-system checks to maintain complete and accurate billing records. 
  • Execute month-end close activities, including reconciliations across billing and financial systems. 
  • Collaborate cross-functionally (customers, sales, customer service, account managers, and accounting) to ensure accurate subscription billing and proper revenue recognition. 
  • Manage billing inquiries and escalations via email, phone, Salesforce, and Jira, delivering timely, professional, and solution-oriented resolutions. 
  • Participate in Australian time zone meetings and contribute to project coordination efforts to proactively improve billing operations and efficiency. 
  • Utilize financial systems and tools (NetSuite, Onsite, Zuora) to support billing operations and process improvements. 

 IDEAL EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION & TRAINING: 

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in billing, accounting, or related financial operations. 
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to identify errors, perform reconciliations, validate data, and resolve billing discrepancies.
  • Ability to work independently with urgency and efficiency in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally, explain complex billing scenarios, and resolve disputes. 
  • Proficiency in business tools, including Excel, Word, Outlook, CoPilot, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Experience collaborating in meetings and on projects in a team-oriented environment.
  • Experience with financial systems, such as NetSuite, Zuora, or other subscription-based billing platforms.
  • Solid understanding of basic billing and accounting principles. 

At Avetta, we are committed to salary transparency to ensure equitable hiring practices and promote trust. The salary range included in this job posting is based on internal and market data and the role's responsibilities. The final compensation offered to a candidate will be determined by several factors, including work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

The salary range for this position is $23.50 - $24.50 per hour USD.

We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, which includes health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), and PTO.
