Octup is a leading operations and analytics platform built for 3PLs and ecommerce brands. We unify data across warehouse, operations, and finance to power better decisions — with a growing focus on billing automation and payments infrastructure. As we scale our billing product, we’re looking for a specialist to own the technical and product layer across customers, internal teams, and product development. 

About the Role

This is a high-impact, cross-functional role sitting at the intersection of: Product Customer Success / Account Management Sales Engineering You will be the go-to expert on Octup’s billing and payments product, responsible for translating real-world customer requirements into scalable product solutions. This is not an Account Manager role - you will not own relationships or project timelines. Instead, you will act as the technical and product authority, enabling internal teams and ensuring successful implementations. 

What You’ll Own

1. Product & Feature Ownership Translate customer and prospect requirements into structured feature requests (FRs) Own bug tracking, prioritization, and follow-ups with Product & Engineering Partner closely with Product to shape roadmap decisions Lead user testing (billing + payments) and validate releases Create documentation, training materials, and product enablement content.

2. Solution Engineering & Scoping Lead technical discovery on customer calls Scope: Rate card structures Billing logic Payment workflows WMS integrations Translate requirements into: Clear implementation plans Technical configurations Jira tickets and documentation.

3. Implementation Architecture & Validation Define and guide implementation approach Build and validate: Initial rate card structures Billing configurations Data validation processes Ensure accuracy and readiness before go-live Act as a quality gate for billing implementations.

4. Technical Support & Escalation Act as the technical escalation point for billing issues Troubleshoot complex problems across: Billing logic Data discrepancies Integrations Work with AMs to resolve issues quickly and effectively 

5. Internal Enablement (CRITICAL) Train and support: Account Managers (implementation + billing logic) Sales team (how to position and demo billing) Be the go-to expert for: Product questions Edge cases New feature understanding Help Sales answer: “Can we support this?” quickly and confidently.

6. Payments & Financial Workflows (Growing Area) Support rollout of: Payment processing Wallets AR workflows Guide customers on: Payment method optimization (ACH vs CC, etc.) Billing + payments setup Build expertise in accounting integrations (e.g., QuickBooks).

Core Requirements:

3–6+ years in: Solutions Engineering Implementation Technical Customer Success OR similar role in SaaS

Strong ability to: Translate business needs → technical requirements Communicate across technical and non-technical teams

Detail-oriented with experience in: Data validation QA System configuration

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment

Nice to Have

Experience with: WMS platforms Billing systems Payment providers

Exposure to: Accounting tools (e.g., QuickBooks) Logistics or supply chain SaaS

You will become the central expert and connective layer across the company for one of our most important product lines


Requirements

What We’re Looking For 

  • 3+ years of experience in a Sales Engineer, Implementation Specialist, Solutions Consultant, or similar role — preferably in a B2B SaaS company. 
  • Strong technical background — comfortable working with APIs, data mapping, integrations, and complex systems. 
  • Deep understanding of billing systems, pricing logic, or logistics/3PL operations. 
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate between business and technical audiences. 
  • Highly organized, resourceful, and comfortable leading external and internal conversations. 

Bonus Points 

  • Experience with logistics platforms, warehouse management systems (WMS), or ERP integrations. 
  • Background in product management or engineering. 
  • Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment.
