KAYAK is looking for a Billing Operations Specialist! This blended role strikes a balance between operational execution and strategic system enablement. It ensures billing accuracy today - while also driving future automation to free up capacity and scale operations.

Note, this role will be required to work from our Norwalk, CT office at least 3 days per week.

In this role, you will:

  • Execute global billing in line with customer contracts, generating invoices and credit notes accurately and on time.
  • Handle billing inquiries and resolve issues promptly while coordinating with teams like Sales and Customer Success.
  • Assist with month-end close activities, including revenue estimation, reconciliations, and compliance checks.
  • Monitor billing exceptions and collaborate with IT, Product, or Sales Operations to fix system issues.
  • Support automation projects to streamline billing workflows.
  • Analyze billing data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain clear documentation and create training resources for billing processes.
  • Participate in audits and compliance activities related to billing controls.

Please apply if you have:

  • Experience in billing, finance, revenue operations, or related functions (2+ years preferred, but all relevant experience considered).
  • Familiarity with billing or ERP platforms such as Salesforce Billing, NetSuite, or similar.
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookup functions) and comfort working with data.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
  • Clear communication skills, able to work well with technical and non-technical teams.
  • Organized and able to manage multiple priorities under deadlines.
  • Knowledge of revenue recognition and SOX compliance is a bonus but not mandatory.

There are a variety of factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required. The range for this United States located role is $70,000 - $78,000.00.

We offer a competitive base salary and benefits including: health benefits; flexible spending account; retirement benefits; life insurance; paid time off (including PTO, paid sick leave, medical leave, bereavement leave, floating holidays and paid holidays); and parental leave benefits. This role is eligible to be considered for an annual bonus.
