Who We Are:

At Synapse Health, we're streamlining the durable medical equipment (DME) process.  We manage intake, documentation, routing, claims, billing, and patient support. Our model reshapes how DME is delivered and experienced.

Since 2016, with decades of industry and leadership experience, we've delivered tech-based solutions that help our partners to modernize operations, improve coordination, and reduce administrative burdens. By taking on operational and financial complexity, we're redefining how DME works for providers, prescribers, and patients. We are proud to offer work that matters, on a mission that matters.

What We Need:

As Synapse Health continues to scale its market-leading technology platform, the BI Reporting Analyst will play a critical role in enabling data-driven decision-making across our growing Equip line of business. Equip focuses on transforming the durable medical equipment (DME) experience in post-acute care settings—including hospice and long-term care—by modernizing workflows, strengthening vendor partnerships, and improving access to high-quality care through technology.

In this role, you will translate complex healthcare, pricing-adjacent, and operational data into clear, actionable insights that support day-to-day operations and long-term strategy. The BI Reporting Analyst will design, build, and maintain reporting solutions that provide visibility into referral workflows, fulfillment performance, supplier relationships, and operational efficiency helping Equip leaders identify opportunities to improve scalability and service quality.

This position requires a 50/50 balance of:

  • Business-facing requirements and documentation (PRDs, stakeholder alignment)
  • Hands-on analytics execution (dashboards, reporting, and data insights)

Exposure to healthcare pricing frameworks and value-based concepts is valuable to inform analytical thinking and recommendations, even though pricing model ownership is outside the scope of this role.

What You Will Do:

  • Transform raw data into meaningful insights that inform operational, business, and performance decisions across the Equip organization
  • Partner with stakeholders across Business, Operations, Product, and Leadership to understand KPIs, metrics, and reporting needs, translating them into scalable BI solutions
  • Design, build, and maintain dashboards and reports that provide accurate, timely visibility into key operational drivers such as referrals, fulfillment performance, turnaround times, and supplier metrics
  • Analyze healthcare and operational datasets to produce industry-relevant reporting that supports care delivery, operational performance, and strategic planning
  • Assist in modeling and defining new datasets and metrics that can be reused across teams to streamline workflows and enable consistent reporting
  • Prototype exploratory analyses and dashboards to help stakeholders evaluate operational scenarios, identify trends, and assess new business opportunities
  • Support the development of shared knowledge and self-service analytics capabilities, empowering stakeholders to answer routine questions independently
  • Develop deep familiarity with Equip data domains and business processes, serving as a trusted analytics partner to the team
  • Collaborate closely with Data Engineering to improve data quality, reliability, and performance within the analytics platform
  • Support day-to-day analytics operations by troubleshooting reporting issues and iterating quickly as business needs evolve

What You Have:

At Synapse Health, we’ve intentionally built a culture rooted in kindness, collaboration, and creativity, qualities we consider essential for every team member. Additional requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5–8 years of experience in Business Intelligence, Reporting, or Data Analytics
  • Experience with dashboard development in Power BI or Tableau
  • Working knowledge of Sigma or similar analytics tools
  • Strong SQL and data analysis skills
  • Experience gathering requirements and documenting PRDs
  • Analytical problem-solving and structured thinking
  • Ability to communicate insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Exposure to healthcare pricing or value-based concepts (preferred)
  • Healthcare, post-acute care, or DME experience is a plus.

What Sets You Apart:

  • Strategic Thinking: You see the bigger picture and connect analytics work to real operational and business outcomes.
  • Adaptability: You embrace change, iterate quickly, and are open to new tools and approaches as needs evolve.
  • Decision-Making: You’re comfortable navigating ambiguity and using data to inform sound decisions in complex situations.
  • Influence & Leadership: You can guide stakeholders through insights, shape conversations with data, and elevate how analytics is used across the organization.

Compensation:

The base salary range for this position is $91,200 – $114,000 annually. This range reflects the anticipated compensation at the time of posting. Final compensation will be based on factors such as relevant experience, demonstrated skills, internal equity, and prevailing market conditions. Compensation discussions are encouraged throughout the hiring process.

What Sets Us Apart:

Work is a part of life, but at Synapse Health, we believe it should be meaningful and enjoyable. We’re committed to helping our team members thrive personally and professionally, which is why our benefits include:

  • Professional growth opportunities with compelling career paths
  • Healthy work-life balance supported by flexible paid time off (PTO)
  • Comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, STD & LTD insurance for full-time team members

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
