Atlassian is seeking an experienced Benefits Manager to lead and manage our benefits programs in India. This pivotal role involves designing local benefit programs that align with our global strategy, ensuring they are both sustainable and impactful. The ideal candidate will enhance Atlassian's employee value proposition while identifying and supporting new opportunities to meet the needs of our diverse and rapidly growing business.
This individual contributor role is based in India and reports to the Benefits Lead for EMEA & India. While the primary focus is managing benefit programs and policies for India, the role may also extend to other EMEA countries, and include additional assigned tasks. Periodic travel may be required.
In this role, you'll be responsible for:
- Strategic Benefit Management and Design: You will be responsible for managing the benefit programs (including leaves of absences) and developing benefit program proposals that align with Atlassian's Global Benefits Strategy. You will also lead annual benefit renewals in collaboration with stakeholders, brokers, and vendors.
- Benchmarking: Participate in benefits surveys and conduct regular market analysis to maintain competitive benefits while managing costs and ensuring sustainability.
- Implementation: Oversee the implementation of new benefit programs and processes. Coordinate with internal stakeholders and manage the selection and setup of new benefit providers, as well as developing and drafting new program policies and processes.
- Manage local pension/provident fund plans: Manage local pension/provident fund plans, ensuring regulatory compliance and meeting employee needs.
- Governance: Ensure benefits programs comply with local regulations and company policies. Monitor costs, financial impact, and competitiveness.
- Consulting: Serve as the subject matter expert and be a trusted advisor to the Global Benefits team, India Leadership Team, People Team, Payroll, and vendors to ensure high-quality program delivery.
- Communication: Drive communication campaigns to foster a comprehensive understanding of benefit programs among employees and management.
- Vendor Management: Set standards for vendor performance and ensure resolution of performance issues.
- Query Management: Act as the escalation point (Tier 3) for employee benefit queries and exception requests.
- Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field like Human Resources, Business Administration.
- Experience: 8+ years of benefits experience, strong understanding of insured benefits, retirement savings, wellbeing and leaves of absences.
- Strategic thinking and good business judgement.
- Strong project management skills, with a track record of successfully implementing benefits programs.
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to manage multiple deliverables.
- Strong communication skills, this includes the ability to simplify complex concepts.
- Excels at providing a consultative approach and stakeholder engagement.
- High level of personal integrity and comfort with ambiguity and adaptable.
- Ability to work independently under pressure and succeed in a fast-moving, dynamic environment with competing priorities.
- Demonstrated skills in influencing problem-solving, self-directed with strong sense of urgency.
- Pragmatic solution-finder who is able to get things done.

- Confident presentation and facilitation skills.
- Experience working with Workday HRIS, Google Suite.
- Innovative thinking with a focus on continuous improvement and leveraging technology in benefits administration.
