Location: Remote (US & Canada) Reports to: VP of Sales
About PortlessPortless is a tech-enabled 3PL that helps DTC brands ship directly from Asia to customers worldwide in 5-9 days. We're transforming how ecommerce brands think about fulfillment by eliminating the traditional 60-90 day ocean freight model and replacing it with faster, more flexible, cash-flow friendly logistics.
We're venture backed and growing fast. Our customers include brands shipping everything from apparel to consumer electronics, and we operate in 55+ countries. We're on a mission to make global fulfillment as seamless as domestic shipping.
The RoleWe're building our outbound sales motion from the ground up, and we need a BDR Manager to lead the charge. This is a high-impact role where you'll hire, coach, and develop a team of 10 BDRs responsible for generating qualified pipeline across our target segments.
This is a pure leadership role. You won't carry a personal quota. Your job is to build a team that consistently hits pipeline targets, develops into future AEs, and establishes the playbook for outbound at Portless.
You'll work closely with the VP of Sales to define strategy, with AEs to ensure quality handoffs, with Marketing to align on messaging and targeting, and RevOps to build a system that scales. If you've built BDR teams before and want to do it again at a company with real product-market fit and ambitious growth goals, join us.
What You'll Do- Build the team by hiring, onboarding, and ramping BDRs. You'll own most of the hiring for a team of 10.
- Coach daily through call reviews, pipeline meetings, and 1:1s. You'll use our "One Thing" coaching philosophy to give focused, actionable feedback that drives improvement.

- Develop the playbook for outbound prospecting, including messaging, sequences, call scripts, and objection handling.
- Partner with AEs to ensure high-quality handoffs and tight feedback loops on lead quality.
- Collaborate with Marketing on targeting, messaging, and campaign alignment.
- Create a career path by developing BDRs into AE-ready candidates and promoting from within.
- Report on performance with clear metrics, forecasts, and insights for leadership.
- 2+ years of experience managing BDR/SDR teams.
- Track record of building or scaling outbound teams that consistently hit pipeline targets.
- Experience hiring, onboarding, and ramping BDRs.

- Experience with CRM and sales engagement tools (HubSpot, Lemlist, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo, etc.).
- Experience in ecommerce, DTC, or retail.
- Familiarity with logistics, supply chain, 3PL, or fulfillment industry.
- Experience building BDR functions from scratch at high-growth startups.
- History of promoting BDRs into successful AE roles.

Build from scratch: You'll define what great outbound looks like at Portless and hire the team to execute it.
Coaching culture: Our sales team operates on a "One Thing" coaching philosophy. You'll be expected to live it and teach it.
Product that sells: DTC brands are under pressure to improve cash flow and expand globally. Our value prop is concrete and differentiated.
