Position Summary:

The Airport Badge Coordinator is responsible for administering and maintaining the airport’s badging and access control program in compliance with TSA regulations (49 CFR Part 1542), airport security protocols, and internal policies. This position involves processing employee badge applications, conducting background checks and security training, and maintaining accurate access records to ensure the security and integrity of the airport's sterile and secure areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process and issue airport ID badges for employees, tenants, and contractors in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Verify and review required documentation, including employment authorization, identification, and security forms.
  • Conduct fingerprinting and submit background checks (STA and CHRC) to appropriate federal agencies.
  • Schedule and conduct security training sessions, including SIDA, AOA, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of badge holders in the access control database and ensure timely renewal and revocation of credentials.
  • Monitor and audit badge activity and access logs; support periodic compliance audits and TSA inspections.
  • Serve as a point of contact for badge-related inquiries and provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with airport security, law enforcement, and TSA to address security concerns or incidents involving credentialed individuals.
  • Maintain confidentiality and accuracy when handling sensitive personal information.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in security, administrative services, or a related field; experience with TSA or airport security protocols strongly preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of 49 CFR Part 1542 or willingness to learn.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and badge management/access control software (e.g., ASC, Safran, or similar systems).
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Must pass a fingerprint-based criminal history records check (CHRC) and security threat assessment (STA).
  • Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
  • Primarily office-based with frequent interaction with airport personnel and visitors.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
  • Occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds.

 

$20/hr. - $26/hr.
