Backend Engineer

*Authorized to work remotely within +/- 1-2 hours of Amsterdam time zone
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Backend Engineer to join our fast-growing, AI-driven technology company. In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining our core web application, which is primarily built on Laravel (80% backend focus) with React.js on the frontend.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and deploy new features and functionality for our web platform

• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver high-quality, user-centric solutions

• Leverage AI and automation tools to improve debugging and development workflows

• Communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Mentor and guide junior developers on best practices
  

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of full-stack web development experience

• Proficient in PHP, Laravel, and React.js

• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, database design, and software architecture

• Ability to write clean, maintainable, and scalable code

• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with AI/ML tools and techniques

• Familiarity with Coursera or similar code automation platforms

• Background in product-focused software development
