In This Role

In this role, you will coordinate Azure subscription transitions and exception requests, validate complex account and billing information, and work with technical teams and stakeholders to ensure requests are completed accurately and efficiently. You will manage requests from intake through resolution, assess eligibility against established requirements, and provide clear guidance on subscription, tenant, billing, and purchasing agreements. You will also maintain detailed operational records, monitor request backlogs, and develop reporting to track workload, approval trends, regional activity, and revenue impact. This remote opportunity offers autonomy and the chance to grow your technical expertise in cloud commerce operations and program management.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and manage Azure subscription transitions and out-of-policy exception requests, developing detailed plans and tracking technical activities through completion.
  • Support complex Azure transitions across multiple purchasing and billing models, including Cloud Solution Provider (CSP), Enterprise Agreement (EA), and Microsoft Customer Agreement for Enterprise (MCA-E).
  • Validate customer and partner subscription, tenant, billing, and documentation details using internal commerce and support systems to determine eligibility and ensure requirements are met.
  • Translate complex subscription, tenant, billing, entitlement, and transition requirements into clear, actionable guidance for account teams, partners, and customers.
  • Manage incoming requests and maintain an organized backlog, prioritizing approvals and communicating progress to stakeholders throughout the request lifecycle.
  • Coordinate with engineering teams and subject matter experts to execute approvals and resolve technical or operational requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of approvals, customer documentation, technical requirements, engineering actions, and request status using Azure DevOps.
  • Develop and maintain operational reports tracking incoming requests, approval types, revenue impact, regional trends, purchasing channels, and workload.
  • Monitor incoming support cases and identify potential high-risk issues, helping facilitate timely action to prevent escalations.
  • Ensure accurate and consistent execution of approval processes while maintaining strong attention to detail and quality control.
Required Qualifications
  • Previous experience in Azure commerce engineering or support, with hands-on knowledge of Azure subscriptions and account management.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Azure tenants, subscriptions, Microsoft commerce, purchasing and billing models, and billing support.
  • Understanding of Azure purchasing channels and agreements, including CSP, EA, and MCA-E.
  • Experience validating complex account data and approval files against multiple requirements, including precise identifiers and other required data elements.
  • Ability to navigate internal commerce, production, or support systems to validate information and determine request eligibility.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical and commerce concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, interpersonal, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize competing requests, manage time effectively, and maintain an organized request backlog.
  • Working knowledge of project and operational management principles, including planning, coordination, process improvement, and quality control.
  • Experience maintaining operational records and tracking requests through Azure DevOps or similar work-management systems.
  • Proficiency with productivity and project-management tools such as Word, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio.
  • Ability to develop operational reports and track business metrics across regions, purchasing channels, request types, and revenue impact.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience supporting Azure subscriptions and account management in a Microsoft commerce engineering or support environment.
  • Experience supporting complex subscription transitions, billing scenarios, purchasing agreements, and exception approval processes.
  • Familiarity with internal cloud commerce systems and production support tools used to validate account and subscription information.
  • Experience coordinating technical approvals and collaborating with engineering teams and subject matter experts.
  • Experience monitoring support tickets, identifying high-risk cases, and proactively coordinating actions to prevent executive escalations.
  • Strong project management skills and experience managing operational workflows, backlogs, reporting, and cross-functional stakeholder communication.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
