VetsEZ is seeking a Cloud Engineer to support a Department of Veterans Affairs project. This role will design, implement, and manage secure, scalable cloud infrastructure in AWS and Azure, while supporting DevOps initiatives and CI/CD automation across environments. The ideal candidate will bring deep cloud knowledge, scripting expertise, and experience with infrastructure automation.

The candidate must reside within the continental US.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement cloud architectures using AWS and Azure services (EC2, S3, RDS, Azure VMs, Blob Storage, Kubernetes, etc.).
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates.
  • Manage deployments via GitHub Actions and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Monitor system performance, resolve cloud-related issues, and ensure high availability.
  • Implement security best practices including access control, encryption, and compliance alignment.
  • Collaborate with development teams to translate application requirements into scalable cloud solutions.
  • Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.

 Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 
  • 5+ years of experience with Azure and AWS cloud platforms.
  • Strong scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD tools.
  • Solid understanding of networking (VNETs, VPNs, Load Balancing), cloud security, and DevOps principles.
  • Experience managing containerized apps and orchestrating with Kubernetes.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Additional Qualifications:

  • One or more of the following certifications: Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert, Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, or AWS Certified Advanced Networking. 
  • Experience with SAFE/Agile.
  • Ability to obtain a government clearance
