This is Adyen

Adyen provides payments, data, and financial products in a single solution for customers like Meta, Uber, H&M, and Microsoft - making us the financial technology platform of choice. At Adyen, everything we do is engineered for ambition.

For our teams, we create an environment with opportunities for our people to succeed, backed by the culture and support to ensure they are enabled to truly own their careers. We are motivated individuals who tackle unique technical challenges at scale and solve them as a team. Together, we deliver innovative and ethical solutions that help businesses achieve their ambitions faster.

About the role:

We are seeking an AV/IT Engineer with a strong background in Audio-Visual production to join our global Office Infrastructure team. In this role, you will provide exceptional AV support for company meetings, such as All Hands and company-sponsored events, in our on-site event space. Bringing a proactive attitude and a commitment to superior customer service, you will ensure seamless experiences for both in-person and remote participants. Beyond live events, you will take ownership of our diverse collaborative environments—managing everything from everyday meeting rooms and training spaces to our dedicated event areas. Alongside this AV focus, you will also oversee and maintain our general office IT infrastructure.

This role requires a builder—someone who can innovate and improve our AV experience while also standardizing and scaling our core IT operations alongside Adyen's growth. Success in this position means not only developing and maintaining a world-class AV program, but also ensuring our everyday office infrastructure remains robust, reliable, and ready to support our expanding North America team.

What You'll Do

  • Provide on-site support during company events to ensure seamless operations, including live streaming All Hands, North American Monthly Updates, all Adyen sponsored events on site.
  • Partner with external AV vendors on larger events and be the primary internal liaison.
  • Act as the hands-on engineering expert for the San Francisco office. Working in tight collaboration with our global infrastructure team in Amsterdam, you will help monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain our local network, Wi-Fi performance, AV spaces and workstation setups.
  • Maintain our global AV standards, ensuring compliance with industry best practices and company requirements.
  • Proactively manage the health of our conference room AV systems, performing routine updates and maintenance to guarantee high reliability, while keeping all physical equipment and cabling organized and professionally presented.
  • Evaluate new AV products and collaborative technologies, conduct pilot tests, and recommend global adoptions.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including system configurations, user guides, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Provide expert-level support for our internal Communication and Events team, guiding the team on best practices and resolving technical issues promptly.
  • Design and deliver engaging, connection-driven hybrid experiences that unify employees across global offices by creatively leveraging AV and collaboration tools to bridge physical distance and enhance real-time interaction
  • Partner closely with stakeholders to understand event goals and translate them into scalable, high-impact solutions by continuously explore new technologies and formats to improve cross-office engagement and inclusivity

What We're Looking For:

Experience-obsessed and creatively driven.
You are passionate about elevating the employee AV experience—not just by ensuring things work, but by designing moments that bring people together across offices. You think beyond the room, proactively identifying ways to create engaging, connection-driven experiences across locations (e.g., enabling real-time interaction, shared audience energy, and seamless participation across SF, NYC, Chicago, and global offices).

You have a strong track record of innovation, process improvement, and continuous iteration. You leverage data-driven insights to identify performance gaps, measure engagement, and make compelling recommendations for AV and IT investments that improve both productivity and experience. You think globally, building scalable solutions that benefit all offices—not just local needs.

Detail-oriented operator with strong product thinking.

Your planning and execution skills are exceptional. You translate stakeholder goals into clear, actionable roadmaps and deliver high-quality solutions on time—even when balancing competing priorities. You don’t just execute requests; you proactively identify opportunities to improve systems, standardize processes, and enhance how work gets done.

Collaborative, consultative communicator.

You are an effective partner who proactively engages with stakeholders to deeply understand their goals—not just their technical requirements. You guide event organizers and teams toward the best solutions, set clear expectations, and ensure smooth execution. You collaborate seamlessly with global infrastructure teams (including Amsterdam and beyond), aligning on standards and sharing best practices to continuously elevate the experience across all offices.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in AV/IT space
  • Experience with QSC programming.
  • Familiarity with AV over IP and Dante-enabled products
  • High level knowledge of AV Hardware and software infrastructures.
  • Solid understanding of standard office IT infrastructure, including basic networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, Wi-Fi troubleshooting).
  • Strong understanding of streaming and event production workflows.
  • A passion for delivering results, navigating competing priorities, and building trust with internal stakeholders and external AV vendors.
  • Experience prioritizing demands, scoping large efforts and negotiating timelines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks effectively
  • Familiarity with VC platforms (e.g., Zoom, Meets, Teams)
  • Willingness to travel both domestic and international as needed to support events

Nice to Have

  • Certifications in AV (Q-sys Level 1+, CTS, CTS-I, CTS-D) and/or Networking (e.g., CCNA, CWNA).
  • Familiarity with live streaming and broadcast software/hardware (e.g., OBS, vMix, hardware encoders).
  • Previous experience working within a globally distributed IT or Infrastructure team.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
