At Netflix, our mission is to entertain the world. Together, we are writing the next episode - pushing the boundaries of storytelling, global fandom and making the unimaginable a reality. We are a dream team obsessed with the uncomfortable excitement of discovering what happens when you merge creativity, intuition and cutting-edge technology. Come be a part of what’s next.

AV Events sits within our Netflix Technology Services organization (N-Tech). N-Tech shares the mission of optimizing the productivity of Netflix employees by supporting their technology needs. The AV Events team’s goal is to create memorable experiences that inform, inspire and excite employees and audiences (both internal and external). As we grow, so does the number of high-profile events we host, and the event spaces we support in office(s), so we’re looking for an experienced AV Events Engineer with technical production management experience to join our AV Events team based in Los Angeles.

You’ll serve as the responsible party for all technical event production support. This includes competency in video, audio, lighting, networking, broadcast, and communications systems used for live events. These events take place in both external venues (i.e. hotel ballrooms) and/or onsite in Netflix event production spaces. The role will function as an AV Event Production Engineer, and serves as the primary technical lead for events at Netflix working alongside other technicians and vendors as operators at AV positions. Leveraging both regional and global teams and vendors, you will provide hands-on AV technical expertise for live events, and multi-camera broadcast productions.

This position requires travel (within the United States, Canada, and Mexico) and flexible hours as support may take place after normal business hours or on the weekend.

  • Assist with AV research and develop project initiatives in partnership with other team members

  • Assist with keeping technical documentation up to date.

  • Ensure proper communication is maintained with internal and external partner groups.

  • Crewing (AV resources) for events with FTE, contractor or vendor resources

  • Ownership of Netflix’s onsite event production spaces’ technology support

  • Oversight of AV budget as pertaining to Event costs

| What We’re Looking For

  • Sustained experience leading technical production on large-scale, high-stakes events on various timelines

  • A natural cross-functional collaborator who works well with demanding stakeholders - Corporate Events, Internal Comms, Workplace, and E-staff

  • Proven ability to manage multiple programmes in parallel without dropping the ball on quality or stakeholder relationships

  • A track record of building systems or workflows that created measurable savings in cost, time, or resource at scale

  • Sufficient broadcast knowledge to lead decisions and sense-check execution

  • Genuine curiosity about AI in live events and during pre and post production, with some hands-on experience to back it up

  • Experience managing vendors, integrators, and technical crews across the full lifecycle of complex programmes

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
