The Opportunity:
Provides technical leadership to support assigned existing systems, product lines and associated processes within the Roche North American Region (NAM) portfolio. Is focused on defining and standardizing the best implementation process for assigned systems. Will be focused on automation implementations and providing support and mentoring to local team on best practices. Exercises wide latitude in determining approaches to critical issues. Utilizes numerous engagement mechanisms as necessary, to collect relevant data, perform analysis, and develop recommendations that cumulate in the successful resolution of the most complex customer issues.
Contributes a high level of subject matter expertise and support to customers, field sales and support teams, as well as key internal Roche stakeholders (Marketing, Quality/Regulatory, Commercial Education, Supply, etc.), consulting on highly complex workflow questions, issues and opportunities involving function, usage and specification of Roche product.
This position requires experience with installing and troubleshooting Cobas 8100 and or Cobas p512/612 and CCM lines .
Assists RSS to create documentation locally as needed when not adequately covered by the general global documentation. Provides subject matter expertise for technical utilization in Knowledge Management Systems.
Consults directly with key Sales, Marketing and Support leaders with regards to current strategies, priorities and business opportunities.
Helps identify workflow improvement opportunities and provides on-site coaching and mentoring to cascade/support “Best Practices” and assist in increasing the overall technical competency of our Field teams. Able to assist in the development and presentation of advanced level technical curriculum as part of workshops and seminars.
Collaborates with and provides regular feedback from Customers, Field Representatives and Customer Support back to Commercial Education to constantly improve general equipment/systems trainings.
Establishes and maintains a positive working relationship with customers. Determines customer needs and sets appropriate implementation/ evaluation expectations. Mentors local team on same. Promotes Roche as a leader in the diagnostic market.
Documents and processes all service and customer account related reports and updates. Communicates to all stakeholders in a timely and professional manner. Regularly creates tools/ solutions to improve processes utilized by the field and customers. Maintains contact with internal technical support areas and management per policy while functioning autonomously in the field.
Maintains expenses within departmental guidelines and controls inventory and all company property.
Who You Are:
Bachelor’s Degree and two years of laboratory IT, general IT, product line experience or 4 years experience
Experience installing and evaluating complex laboratory analyzers, IT products, Automation systems.
Preferred Qualifications
Able and willing to travel 95%, including overnight travel by air/car; currently reside within 50 miles of a major metropolitan airport in the US
ASCP-certified Med Tech or Medical Laboratory Scientist with at least 3 years of experience working with automation, middleware, and/or LIS systems in a clinical laboratory (hospital, IDN, or reference laboratory)
Experience with sample processing via automation and understanding of overall laboratory operations
Effective customer-facing skills: highly proficient communication skills, positive attitude, and willingness to foster strong internal/external customer relationships
Effective time-management, organization, and prioritization skills; ability to work as a field-based individual contributor with independence and autonomy

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Indianapolis Indiana is $82,600.00 to $153,400.00. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
