The Tidal Financial Group is a leading ETF investment technology platform dedicated to creating, operating, and growing ETFs. We combine expertise and innovative partnership approaches to offer comprehensive, value-generating ETF solutions.

Our platform offers best-in-class strategic guidance, product planning, trust and fund services, legal support, operations support, marketing and research, and sales and distribution services.

The Role

We're hiring an Automations Engineer to design, build, and maintain the integrations and automated workflows that connect our business systems and eliminate manual work. You'll work across our full SaaS stack — Notion, Slack, Snowflake, HubSpot, monday.com, and others — writing Python, building API integrations, and turning repetitive business processes into reliable, self-running systems.

This is a hands-on builder role. You'll partner directly with stakeholders across Legal, Product Development, Operations, and Finance to understand their workflows, identify automation opportunities, and ship solutions. If you like the satisfaction of replacing a 30-minute or 3 hour manual process with something that runs in seconds, this is your job.

What You'll Do
  • Build and maintain integrations between SaaS platforms (Notion, Slack, monday.com, HubSpot, Snowflake, etc.) using Python and REST/GraphQL APIs
  • Design and implement automated workflows for business processes — intake forms, notification systems, data syncing, status tracking, approvals
  • Build and manage databases and structured workflows in tools like Notion to replace ad-hoc spreadsheets and email-based processes
  • Write clean, maintainable Python scripts and services; deploy and monitor them in production
  • Work directly with business stakeholders to scope automation opportunities, gather requirements, and iterate on solutions
  • Document integrations, workflows, and runbooks so the team can maintain and extend what you build
  • Identify and flag opportunities to use AI (e.g., Claude API) to enhance automations where it adds clear value
What We're Looking For
  • 2–4 years of experience in a software engineering, automation, or integrations-focused role
  • Strong Python skills — you write production code, not just scripts
  • Hands-on experience integrating SaaS platforms via APIs (REST, GraphQL, webhooks)
  • Comfort working with databases (SQL) and data formats (JSON, CSV)
  • Experience with at least one workflow/automation platform (n8n, Zapier, Make, Power Automate, or similar) — we care more about your ability to learn tools quickly than loyalty to a specific one
  • Ability to communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders and translate business problems into technical solutions
  • Self-directed work style — you manage your own priorities and surface blockers early
Nice to Have
  • Experience with Notion API, Slack API, or monday.com API or SharePoint Graph API specifically
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS — S3, Lambda, etc.)
  • Exposure to data platforms (Snowflake, DBT)
  • Interest in or experience with LLM APIs (Claude, OpenAI) for workflow augmentation
  • Background in financial services or fintech (knowledge of Bloomberg Terminal/API experience)

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
