Summary / Objective:

We are seeking a motivated Automation Engineer with a foundational background in software engineering and a passion for building automation utilities. This entry-level role focuses on leveraging C#, Azure services, and Azure OpenAI to create tools and processes that improve efficiency and productivity across the firm. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, comfortable experimenting with modern automation platforms, and excited to apply AI technologies to streamline legal operations.

This is a remote position. The compensation for this position is an annual base salary of $65,000 to $85,000, depending on experience, plus a discretionary bonus and benefits. 

Essential Functions:

  • Design, build, and maintain automation utilities and scripts using C# and Azure services.
  • Integrate Azure OpenAI capabilities into internal applications and workflows to enhance productivity and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, operations, and technology teams to identify manual processes that can be automated.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment scripts for automation projects.
  • Write clean, scalable, and well-documented code; follow coding best practices.
  • Troubleshoot, test, and support automation solutions to ensure reliability and performance.
  • Continuously learn and experiment with new automation and AI tools available in the Azure ecosystem.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Basic knowledge of C#/.NET development and understanding of object-oriented programming concepts.
  • Familiarity with Azure cloud services (Functions, Service Bus, Web Apps) or willingness to learn quickly.
  • Interest or exposure to Azure OpenAI or other AI/ML technologies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with an analytical, detail-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical teams.
  • Self-starter attitude with a commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.

Education / Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience.
  • Internship, academic projects, or personal projects involving C#, cloud platforms, or automation tools preferred.
  • Exposure to or interest in AI-powered solutions is a plus.

Language Ability:

  • Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English.
