Purpose: Keller Postman seeks a hard-working, team-oriented Discovery Attorney with significant litigation experience to support its practice. The Discovery Attorney will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks in a fast-paced and demanding environment. Tasks and projects must be executed with a high level of attention to detail.  

This position is remote; candidates must reside in the Central or East Coast time zone. Depending on experience, the compensation for this position is a base salary of $82,000 to $100,000 per year, plus discretionary bonus and benefits.  

Essential Functions: 

  • Review requests for production and follow the case document review protocol to identify relevant data to satisfy the requests. 
  • Review and categorize documents in opposing party productions to identify key pieces of evidence for use in depositions, motion practice, hearings, and trials.  
  • Review documents for personally identifiable information and other sensitive information to redact prior to production.  
  • Create logs of documents summarizing the content for attorney review. 
  • Conduct privilege reviews to determine the level of protection needed for certain documents.  
  • Use various document review platforms to conduct a variety of tasks.  
  • Work closely with partners, associates, paralegals, and other support staff on document review tasks related to assigned cases.  
  • Conduct factual and legal research using Westlaw and other sources for associate and partner use. 
  • Other duties as assigned.  

 Required Skills and Abilities: 

  • Experience with a variety of documents and records related to complex litigation cases.  
  • Significant experience using Relativity or similar document review platforms, including the ability to create complex saved searches for case team review. 
  • Ability to adapt to changing needs of the review by understanding how to edit views and layouts for the review team. 
  • Familiarity and experience with the full lifecycle of discovery including information governance, data preservation, and collection.  
  • Fundamental understanding of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (“EDRM”).  
  • Familiarity with electronic data processing and the significance of metadata. 
  • Experience with document review in Technology Assisted Review (“TAR”) projects. 
  • Understanding of and use of analytical tools such as email threading, textual near duplicate analysis, and concept clustering.  
  • Ability to maintain a thorough understanding of assigned cases and rules/procedures for various federal and state jurisdictions.  
  • Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail.  
  • Ability to function well in a fast-paced, demanding environment. 
  • Excellent time-management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.  
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise discretion and good judgment, multi-task, and work independently or as part of a team. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office. 

Education/Experience: 

  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school. 
  • Three to five years of document review experience is preferred.  

Certificates/Licenses Required:

  • Must be a current member of a U.S. state Bar and in good standing.  

Language Ability: 

  • Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English. 

Physical Demands:

  • This job requires remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
