The Recap Group is a digital entertainment company partnering with major media brands like Fremantle and ITV to breathe new life into iconic talent shows (America's Got Talent, The Voice, and more). With billions of views and a data-driven approach, we transform classic TV moments into viral content for today's online audiences.

We're looking for a skilled Video Editor with a strong sense of storytelling and a pulse on YouTube trends. You'll edit raw footage into polished, engaging videos, apply visual and audio enhancements, manage assets, and craft compelling compilation edits — all while staying ahead of platform changes to help our channels grow.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Video Production: Edit raw footage into compelling, high-quality videos for our YouTube channel, focusing on narrative flow and visual appeal.
  • Trend Analysis: Keep abreast of YouTube trends, audience analytics, and platform updates to tailor our content strategy effectively.
  • Visual and Audio Enhancement: Apply visual effects, transitions, graphics, and audio enhancements to create standout videos.
  • Asset Management: Efficiently organize and manage video resources for quick and effective content delivery.
  • Compilation Editing: Master the art of creating engaging compilation videos from talent show performances.

Think you have what it takes? Here's how to prove it.

Rather than a traditional hiring process, we're offering the right candidate something better: a fully immersive, all-expenses-paid week in Austin, Texas — where you'll learn directly from the team behind some of the internet's most viral content, and compete for a role within TRG.

All-expenses-paid week in Austin + the chance to join TRG

From April 20th–24th, learn everything there is to know about the YouTube business from the driving force behind the internet's most viral content — and potentially come work for us.

For a week in Austin, Texas (expenses paid), our top channel managers will teach you everything they know about the business. From Content Creation, Thumbnail Design and Title Structure, to Channel Management and YouTube's Algorithm, you will leave with a deep understanding of how to start and run multi-million dollar channels. Having spent over a decade in the business, we have exclusive access to data and algorithm insights that have helped us generate over a billion hours of watch time.

This program is not simply a series of lectures. Your ability to implement what you learn will be tested, and two attendees will be offered Assistant Channel Manager roles within our business. Assistant Channel Managers will work directly below our top Channel Managers for three to five months, learning the intricate details that make our content go viral, and eventually take over a YouTube Channel(s) as the lead manager.

Expenses Covered:

  • Flights to and from Austin, Texas (must be US based)
  • Hotel room through the week
  • Transportation to and from the airport in Austin, TX
  • Breakfast and Lunch each day
  • One dinner with everyone

Attendance at the event does not guarantee an offer of employment.

Requirements

We are looking for creatives, storytellers, people with an eye for what people want to watch. You do not need prior experience in YouTube or TV to attend. If you are driven, imaginative, and capable of not just telling stories, but creating them, we would love to host you in Austin Texas.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
