The Associate Social Editor will support the Director of Social Platforms and execute our social media strategy across platforms.
This role will be responsible for the creation, scheduling, and promotion of social content, with a strong emphasis on short-form video.
Responsibilities
Lead the creation, scheduling, and publishing of social content across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube Shorts
Assist in developing and producing platform-specific assets, including video and static content for Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok
Edit social-first video content in Afar’s style, ensuring quality, consistency, and performance optimization
Maintain and manage the social content calendar, ensuring consistent posting and timely execution
Track deadlines and keep all social projects on schedule across teams and contributors
Oversee day-to-day social operations to ensure efficiency and consistency across platforms
Communicate monthly social video needs to both the external creators and internal teams
Assign projects, provide creative direction, and review submitted content
Support cross-platform social strategy, set by the Director of Social Platforms, ensuring content is optimized and tailored for each channel
Help maintain a cohesive brand voice and visual identity across all social platforms
Identify opportunities to improve workflow, content performance, and audience engagement
Requirements
2-3 Years experience in a Social role (Media preferred)
Capable of using Adobe Suite (Premiere, Indesign, Photoshop)
Ability to cut in CapCut and Instagram Edits
Highly organized
Experience with Social SEO trends
Ability to shoot and edit from a phone or DSLR
