Job Description Summary

Responsible for working with Unisys clients to design and implement solutions related to Unisys portfolio offerings. These solutions cover a broad range of native and partner products that Unisys offers its clients and requires an architect with a broad range of knowledge, and the ability to apply that knowledge and experience to quickly adapt to changing customer needs and an evolving set of solutions. Responsible for pre-sales account base growth (expansion work) and provides support as required for assigned new logo opportunities that are generally of lesser complexity.

What success looks like in this role:

This is a key position in The DWS Business Units (BU) Go-To-Market (GTM) Team. 

Working with Sales, Account Management, Business Partners, Service Delivery, Legal and Finance you apply your presales outsourcing experience, business expertise, and commercial acumen to develop leading outsourcing solutions in response to proposal requests and across global clients.

This critical role is focused on Solution development and supports the BU by driving increased win rates for new clients and improving portfolio adoption across existing accounts. Within this role, the Solution Architect creates unique value for Unisys Outsourcing clients through the oversight and support of solutions that utilize Unisys standard portfolio offerings while applying a consistent solution architecture methodology to drive requirements based solution approach

Position Accountabilities & Major Tasks

  • The Solution Architect has a strong understanding of portfolio offerings, is capable of supporting the assessment of client requirements, and robustly developing the costing and related documentation. All in order to create a high-value service solution for the client.

  • The successful candidate has experience as a technical and personnel leader supporting organization goals, needs and objectives through operational and strategic oversight/solution development, for Digital Workplace Services including at least one but preferably two of the following:

  • Presales Architect Desktop Workplace Solutions: Transformational Services, Collaboration, Workplace as a Service, Modern Device Management including mobile devices, Intelligent Workplace Services (Service Desk, Field Services & Asset Management), and Proactive experience Management.

  • Ensures that Unisys’ standard solutions are maximized and that Global Sourcing is used in the solution. In addition, ensures that Unisys products are considered and that the standard solution methodologies for Outsourcing are used in developing the solution

  • Provides and supports input for internal (e.g. Deal Reviews) and external (e.g. executive summary) documentation

You will be successful in this role if you have:

Essential:

  • Strong English language skills are necessary.    

  • Relevant presales and technical experience in the IT industry – selling/procuring outsourcing/infrastructure services solutions.

  • Knowledge of the business, industry, and market, as well as sales strategies, account/program management, service delivery, and financial analysis.

  • Requires knowledge of technical services, outsourcing and operational support in the enterprise and digital workplace environment.

  • Experience in tailoring presentations to client needs and varying levels of technical understanding.

  • Excellent understanding of client service delivery and customer-driven IT infrastructure services environment.

  • Ability to adapt and perform in an environment that is continually changing and evolving.

  • Excellent client relationship skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a matrix management structure

  • Sound knowledge of ITIL principles

Desirable:

  • Fluency in German or French

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

  • Formal ITIL v3 qualifications at the Foundation level or higher

  • Knowledge of IT service management technologies and architectures

  • C-Suite consulting experience

You will be successful in this role if you have:

• Bachelor's degree in IT related field and/or 6-8 years of relevant experience in IT, presales architecture experience is a plus

• Experience in proposal processes including proposal solution development / design review, design tradeoff decisions

• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills

• Experience in project management

• Experience with design and developing conceptual, logical, and technical architecture models.

• Knowledgeable on industry standards such as TOGAF, ITIL, ISO Standards, Zachman, etc.

• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting and communication skills

• Expertise in one or more of the solution areas with Strong knowledge in at least in one of those:

• Server Operating Systems, Database / Information Management, Networks, Security, End User Technology (Desktop, Laptop, Tablet, Mobile), Digital workplace services, Virtualization (Server, Desktop, Application), Infrastructure and Device Monitoring

• Mobility Solutions, Application Platforms and Application Integration, IT Processes, IT Governance, measurement and controls, Public, Private, and Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure

• Computing Infrastructure Services (IaaS , PaaS, ITSMaaS, STaaS, etc.), Application Development (multi tier, Web and / or Mobile), Software & Applications, Application and Data Security, Application Integration, Enterprise Content Management, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), Application Performance and Tuning

• Business Intelligence, Analytics, Reporting, Data Warehousing, Enterprise Architecture / Business Architecture, Business Strategy Planning and Execution, Business Process Reengineering, Management and/or Simulation
