Associate Manager, Event Marketing - Beauty & Style

Job Description

About the Position:

The Associate Manager, Event Marketing will be responsible for supporting the Senior Director, Event Marketing in the planning, managing and execution of a wide range of brand and consumer events/activations for the Beauty & Style titles, including InStyle and Byrdie. The person in this role will contribute to all stages of the event planning process, helping to ensure that all executions are on-brand, innovative, and drive our business forward. This role will report to the Senior Director, Event Marketing. 

Hybrid 3x a week- New York, NY 

In-office Expectations: This position is hybrid in-office, with the ability to work remotely for up to 2 days per week.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Keep a pulse on industry evolution and innovation, understanding what makes us stand out from our competitors and contributing fresh and engaging event and activation ideas 

  • Develop and maintain current roster of venues, vendors, and other event partners 

  • Help maintain day to day events responsibilities such as developing timelines, processing invoices, routing contracts, etc., often for simultaneously occurring events

  • Collaborate with internal departments to help coordinate various aspects of the events (creative services, sales, marketing, etc.) 

  • Assist with managing sponsor activations at events from ideation to onsite install to post event recap

  • Manage event guest list processes from invite deployment to RSVP management to event check-in 

  • Coordinate executive and client entertaining logistics and itinerary planning for special events 

  • Ability to work within and assist with managing a budget 

  • Support the Entertainment Vertical’s Marketing and Events team with their roster of events as needed

Essential Job Functions:

  • 20% Develop event timelines, process invoices, review and route contracts
  • 20% Research and ideate new and engaging event and activation ideas  
  • 15% Manage event guest list processes 
  • 15% Work with internal departments and external vendors to help coordinate various aspects of the events 
  • 10% Maintain current roster of event vendors and partners 
  • 10% Coordinate executive and client entertaining logistics and itinerary planning 
  • 10% Onsite event execution 

Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree Preferred (communication, marketing or a related field is helpful but not required)

Experience:

  • 2-4 years of event experience 

  • Beauty and/or fashion events experience or experience working with beauty/fashion brands and red carpet events 

  • Working knowledge of Google Suite applications 

  • Experience working with C-suite executives and talent 

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong organizational and communication skills 

  • Ability to work under pressure and multitask; able to manage multiple projects simultaneously 

  • High energy, engaging and a team player with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively 

  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, and travel when needed 

  • Discretion and confidentiality as they relate to editorial content, partners and attendees

  • Knowledgeable about latest venues, cultural events and restaurants in major markets

  • Some travel required

Pay Range

Salary: New York: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00

The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Dotdash Meredith’s total compensation package for employees.
