What you’ll do:

As the Associate General Counsel, you will be primarily responsible for supporting our internal teams (including Sales, Product, Data Science, Customer Success) with a wide variety of tasks and projects including contracting with major healthcare systems, managing corporate legal projects, and solving a wide variety of complex legal challenges associated with developing products in a growing and dynamic company. In this role, you will collaborate with various levels of leadership, cross-functional teams on a diverse range of issues encompassing product development, SaaS contracting, intellectual property matters, mergers and acquisitions, HIPAA and data privacy regulations, as well as other compliance and regulatory challenges.

Specifically, this role you will collaborate with leadership, sales, product, and other cross functional teams on various legal matters including:

-   Product development

-   HIPAA and data privacy regulations

-   Compliance and regulatory policies

-   Complex SaaS licensing agreements

-   Vendor agreements

-   Intellectual property issues

-   Mergers and acquisitions.

 

What we’d love to see:

  •   8+ years of experience as a creative healthcare regulatory/software product attorney.

  • Skills in healthcare/healthtech contract negotiations and with ability to balance legal risk and commercial success.

  • Hands-on product development and support experience.

  • Experience in healthcare law and compliance, including HIPAA and data privacy.

  • High emotional intelligence and relationship skills, and an ability to read and adapt to changing environments.

  • Energy and drive to support building an in-house legal function at a growth organization that fully embraces an ownership mindset and using technology tools to their full potential.

  • Ability to travel to and from company headquarters in Austin, Texas is required for new hire orientation, onboarding and occasional company meetings.
