Position Summary

Nautilus Solar Energy’s (“NSE”) Associate General Counsel will be responsible for supporting NSE’s solar project acquisition, development, EPC negotiations and financing transactions. The Associate General Counsel will be a key member of a growing legal team and can have the opportunity to be integrally involved through the life cycle of a project. The position will report directly to the Deputy General Counsel and is remote.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide transactional assistance and support on a variety of solar acquisition, development and financing transactions, including managing project due diligence and negotiating purchase agreements.
  • Responsible for negotiation of EPC contracts and related documents.
  • Manage and coordinate with developers, EPC contractors and outside counsel.
  • Support NSE departments in navigating legal issues arising during acquisition, development,
  • construction and operation of projects.
  • Provide organizational support to managing outside counsel.
Requirements
  • JD from an accredited law school.
  • Current license to practice law in one or more US jurisdictions.
  • 3+ years of legal experience in the renewables industry; solar DG or community solar experience preferred.
  • Experience working with EPC contracts.
  • Familiarity with financing structures (debt and tax equity).
  • Ability to interface with different levels and functions of the organization as well as with external parties.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative, seeking guidance from team members and Chief Legal & Administrative Officer as needed.
