The Studio Strategy team works closely with our Netflix Studio team to develop strategy and support the execution of that vision. The Netflix Studio is the largest studio in the world, producing Netflix original series and films. The Studio Strategy team works closely with our partners in production innovation, resource management, VFX, facilities planning, dubbing, and risk management to provide insightful and strategic guidance on core business decisions. The team is a high-impact group within the organization that works on strategic initiatives, cutting across studio operations, content, product, and data science teams across the globe. The Associate position will be an integral member of the Studio Strategy team and will be responsible for providing support and analysis across the breadth of work provided by the team.

This role will reside in Netflix’s Hollywood office.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner closely with Studio stakeholders to set the strategic foundation for new initiatives (e.g., Studio Tech Innovation).

  • Develop strategic frameworks to guide decision-making on key Studio initiatives.

  • Prepare valuation analyses (model building, scenario testing, etc.) to support our Studio teams in their deal negotiations.

  • Conduct analysis of key business drivers, trends, and performance indicators.

  • Create insightful presentations that summarize analysis and present them to groups of Netflix managers and executives.

  • Compile thoughtful post-mortem analyses to determine areas for optimization and improvement.

  • Develop a deep understanding of industry trends as well as competitive threats and opportunities

Qualifications:

  • 4-year degree in a relevant field with strong academic performance.

  • 2-5 years of experience at an investment bank, management consulting firm, private equity, hedge fund, and/or internal strategy.

  • Prior experience in Media/Entertainment is a plus (but not required).

  • High aptitude and enthusiasm for complex problem-solving utilizing financial modeling and analysis, including strong Excel skills and familiarity with statistical concepts and analysis.

  • Thrives in a fast-paced and results-driven environment.

  • Intellectually curious, motivated, and disciplined. Can effectively work autonomously.

  • Adept at writing, facilitating, and presenting analyses. 

  • Strong communication and ability to build relationships with stakeholders and cross-functional partners.

Due to the nature and scope of this role, we will need to run a background check prior to starting with us. We are also supportive of individuals who choose to move on to business or graduate school after 2-3 years.

Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $50,000-240,000.
