Associate Director, Talent Acquisition 

College Board – Global Strategy and Talent 

Location: This is a remote role. Candidates who live near College Board offices have the option of being remote or hybrid (Tuesday and Wednesday in office). All College Board roles require some travel on behalf of College Board throughout the year. 

Role Type: This is a full time position. 

About the Team 

The Talent Acquisition team sits within the Global Strategy and Talent division and plays a critical role in enabling College Board's mission through the people we hire. As part of a broader Talent organization of approximately 40 professionals, our team partners with leaders across the enterprise to attract and secure high quality talent that drives business outcomes.

About the Opportunity 

As an Associate Director, Talent Acquisition, you will bring great people onto College Board teams by owning full cycle recruiting for a steady volume of roles. This role is built for a recruiter who wants to spend their time doing the work of pure recruitment through sourcing, screening, interviewing, and closing candidates, rather than taking on projects or initiatives. 

You will apply established recruiting practices, tools, and frameworks to deliver timely, high quality hiring outcomes and great candidate experience. This is a great fit for someone who wants to grow their craft through consistent full cycle hiring, and who enjoys the steady rhythm of always having roles to fill. 

Success in this role requires curiosity in adopting new technologies to improve efficiency, a mindset oriented toward continuous improvement to enhance the candidate experience and smarter ways of working while driving hiring across multiple functions and levels.  

In this role you will: 

Lead Full Cycle Recruiting (60%) 

  • Own the full cycle recruiting from intake through offer acceptance, including role scoping, sourcing strategy, and close; for a steady volume portfolio of non-technical roles across corporate, academic, and operations functions 

  • Conduct structured intake meetings to define competencies, success profiles, and evaluation criteria and use that information to design thoughtful interview guides and candidate exercises aligned to agreed-upon scorecards  

  • Drive strong close outcomes through effective candidate engagement and stakeholder alignment 

  • Leverage automation and AI-enabled tools to streamline sourcing, screening, scheduling, and communication while maintaining high-quality candidate engagement 

  • Proactively source, engage, and activate passive candidates through targeted outreach and relationship building 

  • Monitor pipeline activity and hiring progress, sharing regular updates with stakeholders 

  • Represent College Board's employer brand in every candidate interaction 

Recruitment Operations, and Process Excellence (20%) 

  • Maintain accurate, timely candidate and requisition data in the ATS (Workday preferred) 

  • Track and meet recruiting metrics including time-to-hire, offer acceptance, and candidate satisfaction, as well as funnel health metrics  

  • Drive offer processes, including offer extensions, negotiations within established guidelines, and candidate closing 

  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and hiring standards  

Advise Hiring Managers (20%) 

  • Partner with hiring managers to calibrate expectations and refine role scope based on market conditions 

  • Guide leaders through evidence-based hiring decisions and structured debrief processes  

  • Influence hiring outcomes to ensure alignment with business priorities and long-term talent strategy  

  • Educate hiring leaders on evolving recruiting tools and data insights to support faster, higher-quality hiring decisions 

About You 

  • 3 to 5 years of full cycle recruiting experience, corporate and/or education recruiting experience preferred  

  • Energized by the day-to-day work of recruiting, sourcing, screening, interviewing, and closing, and comfort working a steady, high volume caseload of similar roles  

  • Strong ability to build productive relationships with hiring managers  

  • Exceptional organizational skills and time management, with the discipline to keep pipelines, deadlines, and details precisely on track  

  • Working knowledge of HR principles, employment practices, and confidentiality requirements  

  • Experience using Applicant Tracking Systems; Workday experience preferred  

  • Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team  

  • A desire to grow as a recruiter through consistent, hands-on experience  

  • Experience or interest in education or nonprofit environments is a plus, though not required  

  • Willingness to travel 2 to 4 times per year to College Board offices or for business needs

About Our Process   

  • Application review will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled. This role is expected to accept applications for a minimum of 5 business days. 

  • While the hiring process may vary, it generally includes: resume and application submission, recruiter phone/video screen, hiring manager interview, performance exercise such as live coding, a panel interview, a conversation with leadership and reference checks.

  • The hiring range for this role is $56,000 - $100,000. 

  • Your exact salary will depend on your location, experience, and how your background compares to others in similar roles at the College Board.
