 Position Summary

As a Strategy Associate Director, you are responsible for the creation of the strategic direction a brand will take in communications to achieve their business goals. You are responsible for helping to strategize, produce and make sense of the key cultural, consumer and market intelligence required to design the best possible holistic communications plan to deliver on that task.

You are responsible for creating the strategic recommendations and engaging with the client in an advisory capacity. You will report to the Strategy Director to deliver brilliant strategic thinking for the client team. Creative thinking, sound presentation skills & leadership behaviors are critical in delivering success in this role.

 Responsibilities

· Oversees the development of the detailed communications plan to power the idea

· In conjunction with Director, present the holistic approach to the relevant stakeholders

· Manage the outputs of day-to-day requirements and workflow of the client as it relates to Media Strategy & Planning

· Present client education program around media strategy relevant marketplace trends.

· Oversee the management and training of team in media strategy & planning fundamentals

· Spearhead the best practice application of strategic approach including key tools and techniques to surface media and marketing intelligence and insights to produce an impactful, culturally rich communications plan across owned, earned, shared, paid (OESP)

· Write and manage outputs from RFP submissions from the Design discipline, in collaboration with Partnerships leads

· Contribute to client Key Performance Indicator (KPI) delivery and to Specialty Business Units (SBU) growth and client profitability

· Write POVs on topics relevant to our key clients and agency


· Support the translation of complex concepts into simple, powerful narratives and present strategic recommendations to the client

· Craft strategic narratives that bring the strategy to life


Required Skills & Experience

· Experience in an integrated strategy or planning role in media, publisher / vendor, or communications discipline (digital, content)

· Ability to delegate and oversee direct reports

· Proven ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships with clients, colleagues, and vendors

· Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills

· Strong time-management and organizational skills

· Required PC/MAC proficiency and solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)


Desired Skills & Experience

· 5+ years relevant experience with 2+ years managing or developing staff

· Category or audience experience as relevant per assignment

· Proven problem-solving ability

· Ability to work successfully within a team, handling multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines under pressure

The salary range for this position is posted below.  Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position, market considerations, budgetary considerations, tenure and standing with the Company (applicable to current employees), as well as the employee’s/applicant’s skill set, level of experience, and qualifications.
