About The Role

As the Associate Director of Sales, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing the sales activities for the Transient, Wholesale, and Corporate segments at Beverly Wilshire, A Four Seasons Hotel. Your primary goal will be to drive revenue growth, ensuring that sales activities align with the Hotel’s commercial objectives, and optimizing revenue across all business segments. You will be instrumental in executing strategies, mentoring the sales team, and fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients and internal departments. This position demands a proactive, results-driven individual with the ability to lead, inspire, and motivate a diverse team while ensuring the hotel’s sales goals are met.

What we expect:
Job Duties Include But Are Not Limited To

  • Manage a portfolio of key accounts, supervising sales and administrative staff as assigned by the Director of Marketing (DOM) and Director of Sales (DOS).
  • Uncover, prospect, and sell individual transient business in alignment with the Marketing Plan's objectives.
  • Monitor, motivate, and guide the sales team to meet sales goals, ensuring quotas are met by directing sales activities to achieve budgeted targets.
  • Ensure sales efforts and account bookings are aligned with transient demand to optimize revenue per available room.
  • Implement and support all Four Seasons sales and marketing standards.
  • Plan and execute sales calls, client events, and recognition programs as directed.
  • Recruit, train, and familiarize sales department staff with hotel operations, specific responsibilities, and performance expectations.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback to sales personnel.
  • Collaborate with DOS to manage and oversee all supervisory functions for efficient staff management.
  • Monitor and identify current and future business trends to drive profitable sales during both high and low demand periods.
  • Negotiate to achieve maximum revenue and profit while meeting client needs.
  • Lead the hotel's CTI room sales activities, proactively developing sales and marketing solutions.
  • Actively sell and manage key accounts and territory, setting a strong example for the sales team.
  • Maintain effective communication with Worldwide Sales Offices and ensure alignment with global sales efforts.
  • Enhance the hotel's community presence and stay informed on industry trends, competition, and sales methods to maximize profitability.
  • Support the Director of Sales in setting annual sales goals and implementing incentive programs.
  • Direct the reporting of results and coordinate sales activities to ensure sales objectives are met and take corrective action as needed.
  • Run RevMax meetings to manage room data, availability, and rates in the absence of the DOS.
  • Ensure consistent communication between Sales Managers and other department heads to optimize guest experience and hotel profitability.
  • Coordinate special sales activities, promotions, trade shows, and sales trips.
  • Maintain regular communication with supervisors regarding any issues or significant matters requiring attention.
  • Assist in preparing reports to improve data-driven decision-making and critical evaluation of sales activities.
  • Stay aware of current and forecasted financial/business performance.
  • Collaborate with other departments to coordinate sales activities and ensure alignment with broader business objectives.
  • Maintain professionalism in all sales interactions, upholding Four Seasons standards.
  • Assist with guest inquiries in the sales and marketing department, including handling high telephone volumes and conducting site inspections.
  • Support the operations team during peak periods.
  • Foster relationships with peers at local hotels/resorts.

Qualifications

  • Experience: At least 5 years of progressive experience in hotel sales, with ideally time spent in a leadership position. Experience in luxury hotels or resorts is preferred.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and mentor a team in a high-performance environment. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships.
  • Sales Expertise: A deep understanding of revenue management, market trends, and strategies to maximize hotel revenue. Strong negotiation and communication skills are essential.
    • Previous Experience in Transient, Corporate, and Wholesale Segments
  • Results-Oriented: A proactive, solution-focused approach with the ability to adapt and adjust strategies based on performance data and market conditions.
  • Collaboration: Strong cross-departmental collaboration skills, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively with various teams and stakeholders.
  • Excellent knowledge of sales related systems, IdeaS, Hotelligence 360, Opera, Delphi / Golden Sales and Catering account management systems to achieve FS minimum operating standards and to effectively utilize as a strategic tool.
  • Education: A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or related field is preferred.
  • Strong communications (written and verbal)
  • Strong writing and oral presentation skills
  • Requires good computer skills including MS Office
  • Good knowledge of hotel operations
