We are seeking an Associate Director of Identity and Access Management Engineering to infuse our team with innovative ideas and daring solutions. In this position, you will play a crucial role in defining how our organization ensures secure, appropriate, and timely access to enterprise resources, while also driving our Identity and Access Management strategy forward. 

 

What You Will Be Doing: 

 

The Associate Director of Identity and Access Management Engineering is a leadership role overseeing the teams responsible for implementing new capabilities and service improvements across identity platforms and services.  This role will be at the forefront of the organization's identity and access management initiatives. The primary responsibility will be to lead a team of talented IAM engineers, driving the design, development, and implementation of cutting-edge capabilities.  It will also play a pivotal role in ensuring the security, efficiency, and scalability of our IAM services. This position requires a strong focus on agility.

How You'll Succeed: 

  

Team Leadership & Management:  

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing team of identity engineers.   

  • Provide coaching, career development, performance management and professional growth opportunities.  

  • Foster a culture focused on innovation, continuous learning, and operational discipline. 

  • Cultivate a global team culture, ensuring alignment across geographies to operate as one global team. 

  • Identify critical skill gaps and develop strategies to attract, retain and upskill top talent.  

  • Cultivate a diverse and inclusive team fostering different perspectives and backgrounds.    

  

Resource Planning & Allocation:   

  • Work closely with service leads to understand service roadmaps, prioritization and requirements. 

  • Allocate engineering resources aligned with top priorities across identity services. 

  • Manage project intake, resourcing conflicts, and escalations across the security platforms portfolio and business priorities. 

  

Design and Development: 

  • Apply Agile principles (Scrum, Kanban, or Lean) to manage execution efficiently. 

  • Facilitate sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives. 

  • Ensure timely delivery of IAM features and enhancements. 

  • Work closely with architects and service leads to translate business requirements into technical solutions. 

  • Oversee the design, development, and deployment of new capabilities across IAM services. 

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the IAM team. 

  • Identify opportunities to enhance processes, tools, and technologies. 

  • Stay informed about industry trends and emerging IAM practices. 

  • Champion user-centric design principles in IAM solutions. 

  

Your Basic Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field.

  • 3+ years of experience leading people in cybersecurity engineering and operations.

  • 5+ years of experience in Identity & Access Management.

  • 5+ years of experience working in Agile Methodology.

What You Should Bring: 

  • Strong understanding of Identity and Access management capabilities and technologies. 

  • Ability to lead high-performing, cross-functional teams in a global enterprise. 

  • Strong business acumen combined with technical depth to influence and drive outcomes. 

  • Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder engagement skills. 

  • Experience with IT service management (ITIL) and security operations frameworks.   

Additional Information:

  • Remote with travel to Indianapolis -10-25%.

  • Local candidates will be required to work a hybrid model at the Lilly Corporate Center in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location.  The anticipated wage for this position is

$124,500 - $182,600

Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
