Job Description

As a North Asia Lead, you are the Business Partner lead and adviser for North Asia, driving talent strategies and effective HR services that support business performance and growth.You will assist with the management of the department responsible for employee human relations.

This job is part of the HR Strategy and Operations function. They are responsible for the design, execution, and monitoring of human resource programs and policies. Provide formal supervision to employees. Monitor the training and development of staff. Conduct performance evaluations and coaching.Coordinate and manage the team's daily activities. Establish work schedules, assign tasks, and cross-train staff. Set and track staff and department deadlines. Mentor and coach as needed. Provide interpretation of company policies and procedures. This includes sensitive information, employee relations, performance management, succession planning, etc. Advise management on the proper handling of all reductions in labor and other business scenarios.

North Asia: Greater China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Japan & Korea

Individual accountabilities

Strategy & Growth:

  • Create and deliver HR Plan for the business segment that delivers a supply of job ready talent, leadership succession and retention strategies to reward and engage the workforce
  • Support the business development through provision of expert advice, promote services and transition new clients
  • Supports and promotes the HR Business Partner operating model adoption for HR team and across the business

Products & Services:

  • Ensure HR services meet the requirements of the businesses through close partnering with COE’s and country HRBPs, and clear articulation of business needs
  • Problem solves, solution and partner with COE’s on implementation/maintenance of talent and HR initiatives, programs and services

Operations:

  • Establish robust HR governance frameworks in businesses, including structure and spans of control, risk management and HR compliance and accurate reporting
  • In countries of leadership responsibility for North Asia, provide seamless and responsive service support to other businesses and embed one team culture
  • Leverage the scale of company to deliver cost efficient and high-quality HR services to businesses
  • In partnership with HR Share Services team, drive continual improvement and process efficiencies to shared services

Clients:

  • Ensures HR services provide the service outcomes to clients and improves client satisfaction scores to at or above industry benchmarks
  • Partners with business leaders and business generation teams to lead HR aspects of RFPs and client pitches
  • Builds trusted relationships with current and potential clients and external stakeholders and acts as a custodian of the company’s brand in North Asia
  • Maintains a workforce planning process and associated initiatives to ensure the continual supply of job ready talent and leadership potential at all levels.

  • Lead the engagement and diversity plan for the business segment and continually drive increases in employee engagement levels of own HR team and broader HR function
  • Constantly monitor, calibrate and enhance compensation and benefits offerings within business segment to ensure burden rates are optimised and a competitive employment offering
  • Ensure effective performance management practices and raise standards in all areas, including clear objectives, robust reviews, pay-for-performance, continuous feedback and recognition at all levels
  • Lead talent management and succession planning for all key leadership

Qualifications

  • At least 10 years of HRBP experience, ideally from a multinational corporation
  • Experience in the energy, construction related industry is an advantage
  • Energetic and able to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast paced, dynamic environment
