How we LEAD:

We are seeking an Associate Director to work in our Digital Rights Administration team. The ideal candidate will lead support of daily requests/ issues in relation to TikTok, assist with rights management support on Meta and other UGC platforms, oversee special projects, and develop an in depth understanding of TikTok and UMG’s UGC system to support labels’ needs and requests. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys learning how social media apps and music rights management systems work, identifying malfunctions, troubleshooting issues, communicating with partners and labels, seeking out and processing claims, maintaining organized records, collaborating with others, and working independently.   

How you'll CREATE:

  • Support UMG territories and labels with daily requests/issues in relation to TikTok and Meta.

  • Lead day-to-day operations of TikTok UGC team.

  • Manage queues, process claim disputes, potential claims, and reference overlaps in TikTok’s Media Match.

  • Seek out manual claim opportunities and keep claim records.

  • Understand music rights conflicts, identify priorities, and coordinate with DRA team to solve cross-platform conflicts.

  • Co-manage agenda and lead internal/external meetings regarding TikTok operations.

  • Identify, investigate, document, and report bugs and feature requests in rights management systems.

  • Collaborate with partners to innovate and optimize. Provide feedback on rights management systems, operational processes, and critical issues.

  • Manage tracking of open issues and requests.

  • Understand and operate UMG supply chain systems related to UGC rights management, especially UGC Workspace system.  Understand data flow needed to administer rights management on UGC platforms, and surface enhancements and critical issues to management.

  • Assist with special projects related to TikTok and Meta rights management systems and UMG’s UGC system.

  • Prepare ad hoc reports for team management and cross functional stakeholders.

  • Ability to find solutions to complex problems

  • At least 3 years of experience managing digital rights for recorded music rightsholders

  • Experience with TikTok Media Match and/or YouTube CMS and/or Facebook Rights Manager

  • Knowledge of features and functionality in TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube apps

  • Understanding of music copyrights

  • Keen interest in the digital music/ media industry and the technology that surrounds it

  • Experience with DDEX and recorded music digital supply chains

  • Conversant in Internet/ meme culture

  • Knowledge of digital asset delivery, content operations or metadata management

Salary Range:

$67,900 - $148,555
