The mission of the Warner Records Digital Marketing team is to drive fandom, music consumption, D2C purchases, and social conversation/engagement using innovative digital marketing strategies. The team is responsible for all aspects of an artist’s digital presence, including digital narrative development, influencer campaigns, social content ideation, CRM, social/digital partner activations, content seeding, websites, and related initiatives.  We work directly with artists to translate their music vision into groundbreaking digital campaigns and provide in-depth creative consulting to grow a highly engaged fanbase.

Your role:

The Associate Director, Digital Marketing, will be responsible for developing and executing high-level digital marketing campaigns across all genres at Warner Records.  This position will be responsible for developing campaigns that create cultural conversation, build artists' social followings and engagement, and drive music consumption. We seek a digital expert who is knowledgeable in industry standards and eager to shape the future of digital marketing.

Here you’ll get to:

  • Monitor campaigns in real time and make recommendations for continuous improvement. Create post-mortem analyses to quantify the impact of each campaign and measure the effectiveness of each tactic

  • Lead and drive cross-functional collaboration with internal teams (Commercial Revenue, Marketing, Brand Partnerships, Creative, and Publicity) to ensure cohesive, goal-oriented campaigns across all platforms.

  • Be responsible for the strategic direction and overall success of social media, website, and CRM strategies for a designated roster of artists, and oversee day-to-day execution by support staff.

  • Use your expert-level knowledge of social platforms and social content strategies when partnering with artists and management to craft a social narrative and content strategy that elevates their brands and drives fandom, cultural conversation, and music consumption

  • Work with artist management and internal departments to develop and maintain an editorial calendar across all social platforms

  • Partner with internal creatives and external creators to develop high-performing short-form content for Warner Records artists

  • Partner with the VP of Paid Media Strategy, Operations, and Audience Growth to develop and execute paid media campaigns and CRM strategy for each artist

  • Work with our Insights team to profile our online audiences, building digital marketing strategies based on that demographic and psychographic data

  • Build and maintain relationships with social media platform representatives and participate in regular update meetings

  • Own and manage substantial online marketing budgets for each artist, ensuring optimal ROI and resource allocation across campaigns.

About you:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

  • Minimum of 5+ years professional experience in digital/social media marketing, direct-to-consumer marketing, and/or related fields, preferably at a Record Label or music management company

  • Outstanding organizational skills, verbal and written communication skills, expertise in social media content strategy, and impeccable follow-up and follow-through

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and motivate a small team or a matrixed project group, resulting in improved performance and development

  • Proven experience leading strategic discussions with high-level clients (artist management) and internal executives, confidently presenting and defending digital marketing plans

  • Project management experience and the ability to execute concise, fan-focused digital marketing plans with a solution-oriented mindset, even in a fast-paced, tight timeframe environment

  • Knowledge on how to “move the needle” online, be it driving consumption, engagement, or growth

  • A deep professional understanding of interactive technologies and communication tools (including TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, Threads, X, YouTube, Snapchat, Discord, Website strategy, and Email/CRM strategy), and a passion and deep knowledge of music trends and culture across multiple genres

We’d love it if you also had:

  • Photoshop, Illustrator, or other graphic design knowledge

  • Experience using project management software such as Monday and Basecamp

  • Understanding of social media analytics and posting tools such as Falcon and HootSuite

  • Record Label experience

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
