The Role

We seek a Creator and Video Communications Lead to support Spotify’s efforts to elevate podcast and video creators on and off the platform. In this role, you will develop and execute communications strategies for the growing Spotify creator community.


A successful candidate will have seasoned experience with creator-centric companies, agencies and technology platforms, including working directly with creative talent and senior leadership. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role that will include developing our narrative strategy, including proactive storytelling to drive understanding of priority narratives, and leading thought leadership strategy. You should have a strong track record with storytelling around digital-native creators, from media relations to events and influencer strategy.

This is a full-time position based in Los Angeles.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and drive communications strategy for Spotify’s content business, including The Ringer.
  • Create and execute thought leadership strategies for executives from Spotify’s Podcast and Video business and The Ringer.
  • Elevate Spotify’s narrative around our creator community, leveraging major company moments and developing targeted campaigns and news moments from ideation to execution.
  • Support major marketing initiatives directed toward creators, generating press moments around our many creator-focused initiatives.
  • Work closely with leadership and creator relations teams to identify unique Spotify creators and amplify their work to the world.
  • Work directly with talent and executive teams on announcements, speaking opportunities, events and broader storytelling.
  • Work closely with product, advertising, corporate and internal communications to include creators in announcements across the business.
  • Provide strategic guidance from the creator perspective on cross-functional business narratives.
  • Collaborate with communications teams around the world to elevate global creator stories.

Who You Are

  • 12+ years of experience in creator or content communications for a global technology platform or global network
  • 2+ years of people management experience with global public company
  • Solid business, tech and creator economy media relationships
  • Strong stakeholder management and leadership skills
  • Proven track record of developing and executing holistic communications strategies and plans at a global scale
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills
  • A strong storyteller who can find narratives in unexpected places and effectively combine an individual creator’s vision with hard data to paint a picture.
  • Team player who can work autonomously while thinking globally and executing locally
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally
  • Multilingual skills are a plus

Where You'll Be

  • This role will be based out of LA office
  • Spotify offices are located in the Arts District in Downtown LA
  • In-office expectations are 3+ times per week

The United States base range for this position is $171,386- $214,232, plus equity. The benefits available for this position include health insurance, six month paid parental leave, 401(k) retirement plan, monthly meal allowance, 23 paid days off, 13 paid flexible holidays, paid sick leave. These ranges may be modified in the future.
