The Creative Associate Creative Director, Copy (ACD, copy) is responsible for managing the Copy Department within Delivery Services at Red Nucleus. The CD/ACD, copy will partner with clients and cross-functional teams to shape compelling content solutions that meet our client needs.

To be successful in this role, the CD/ACD, copy must have proven ability to collaborate with consultants, account, content, creative, and digital teams to produce and direct strategically sound concepts for all forms of copy deliverables. The CD/ACD, copy position is responsible for management of copywriter direct reports serving the purpose of processing all content requests within a timely and effective manner and meeting department quality standards.

Understanding of the healthcare payer space—the various needs of, and dynamics between, the stakeholders involved and market trends that are impacting the industry required.

Duties/Responsibilities

Content Delivery

  • Develops content strategy across clients driving creativity, ideation, and innovation that lead to ownable consumer engagement opportunities
  • Embodies both creative storytelling and thought leadership capabilities with analytical and technical knowledge and skill to perform at a high level. Possesses a strong command of the overall content landscape from a brand communication perspective
  • Supports the total content practice across the organization, inclusive of thought leadership, sharing of learnings, mentorship, and innovation efforts
  • Collaborates with cross-channel content creators and media brands and partners to identify, create, customize, and execute opportunities that deliver specific client goals across disciplines
  • Creates strong relationships with partners to allow easier negotiation, access to innovations, smooth delivery, and campaign execution
  • Leads project execution, campaigns, integrated sponsorships, and content creation across linear, digital, OTT/CTV, social, print, event, and emerging and interactive platforms
  • Supervises the development and monitoring of client delivery executions, assuring quality control of all media planning and implementation

  • Collaborates with client engagement teams and other departments to create opportunity and drive growth
  • Participates in new business pitches as Content lead when required
  • Drives the full lifecycle of content for the firm, including strategy and planning, publishing, distribution, analytics, measurement, and technology
  • Develops ongoing governance to ensure content is built for purpose and can be leveraged across our full array of audiences and channels
  • Meets with internal or external clients to understand needs, determine specifications, and coordinate planning. Attends kickoffs, discoveries, and regularly scheduled status meetings
  • Interacts with clients to ensure that their needs are understood, and the content strategy is meeting and, ideally, exceeding their expectations
  • Brand steward that understands the market, asks the right questions, and works with clients to solve strategic and content issues

Leadership/Team Management

  • Develops talent pipeline of existing and future staff, including individual development plans and succession plans
  • Trains and mentors direct reports to ensure professional growth and department excellence
  • Ensures staff are communicating and coordinating efforts to provide superior services to internal and external customers
  • Gives strong, clear direction and supervises direct functions/departments effectively, positively, and in line with our business objectives
  • Responsible for developing and supporting enduring client relationships
  • Responsible for performance management of direct reports, helping them to further grow in their careers
  • Reviews work of direct reports and contractors to provide feedback as needed
  • Manages Copy team resource needs, including contractor management; assigns and dedicates direct reports based on capacity
  • Manages costs which account for budgetary requirements and overall profitability including Copy team contract budget and hours estimation
  • Embraces and encourages a culture based on teamwork, communication, and collaboration
  • Supports content needs for internal marketing initiatives to drive company vision
  • Ensures all direct reports are knowledgeable and compliant with all internal standard operating procedures, processes, and administrative requirements

Client and Project Engagement

  • Builds strong relationship with client team leads, continuously showcasing COEUS’ content strengths, thought leadership, innovation capabilities, and critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Assists with development of internal growth strategies, identification of new business opportunities, suitable means for outsourcing, and internal education regarding services offered
  • Owns development and maintenance of Copy team best practices, processes, and training materials to provide standardized guidance to all direct reports
  • Assists with content development for business development activities for RFP responses, pitches presentations, proposals development, and statements of work
  • Presents and sells standard and innovative ideas internally and to clients with confidence and enthusiasm
  • Partners with client services to estimate hours and establish timelines, schedules, scopes, and budgets, encourages adherence
  • Collaborates with subject matter experts, Account, Creative, and Editorial team members as the job requires, to develop communications and manage day-to-day activities
  • Works closely with team members to ensure that each project is delivered with the highest quality, within agreed timelines and client budgets
  • Raises swift awareness to proactively head off issues that put projects at risk for staying on time and on budget and maintains our standards of quality and value

Other

  • Uses and is compliant with required company systems and adheres to best practices and standard operation procedures as trained
  • Given the nature of the work, at times be asked to be flexible and to offer extended support outside of normal working hours to meet the business needs. This may also include weekend work
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; graduate or professional degree preferred
  • Minimum 7-10 years’ experience in a promotional, market access, or medical communication agency

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to travel
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
