Your role at Baxter

This Is Where Your Deal Strategy leads to Success.

As an Associate Deal Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the Deal Hub team for the design, analysis, and project management of the largest ($1M+) commercial deal strategies and structures for the top health systems and IDNs across North America. You will report to the Director, Deal Hub. This role will have you collaborate with marketing to create new and enhanced offerings that deliver strong value propositions to Baxter customers and identify key learnings to simplify and streamline the sales support processes.  The Deal Hub plays a supporting role to the Sales team in developing and advancing the deal funnel, increasing big deal win rates, and ensuring all requirements are met related to compliance, legal, contracting and pricing policies.

Location to live: This person can live throughout the United States. This person should be able to travel minimally, up to once a quarter.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Serve on the Deal Hub team within Enterprise Corporate Accounts (ECA), a specialized group of Solutions Architects supporting enterprise commercial strategy and deal execution for Baxter’s top IDNs across the U.S.
  • Own defined workstreams within standard deal opportunities, applying established frameworks and contributing solutions that strengthen deal strategy, execution quality, and customer-facing deliverables.
  • Project manage defined deal opportunities and workstreams, including meeting coordination, timeline management, action tracking, stakeholder follow-up, and alignment of inputs from cross-functional partners.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, Finance, Contracting, Operations, and Business Leadership to gather inputs, reconcile priorities, align recommendations, and support key commercial workstreams.
  • Manage and apply defined deal frameworks and analytics that inform pricing strategy, return on investment, fleet assessment recommendations, and technology replacement plans, while contributing ideas that strengthen commercial insights and decision-making.
  • Prepare and refine high-quality, leadership-ready materials to ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency, including customer value propositions, proposals, presentations, and RFP responses, as well as select ECA updates and communications.
  • Ensure customer and internal deliverables are completed accurately, on time, and in alignment with Baxter policies, procedures, pricing standards, and governance requirements.
  • Support select commercial enablement initiatives that improve tools, workflows, and reporting to help Deal Hub and ECA execute with greater speed, consistency, and scale.
  • Partner with the Director, Deal Hub to co-design, advance, and curate the ECA knowledge management system, including file structure, key resources, best practices, prior deal examples, and team communications.
  • Support Deal Hub performance visibility and continuous improvement by contributing to metrics reporting, process enhancements, sales team coordination, and insights related to funnel, win rate, deal velocity, and commercial execution.
What You Will Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or relevant business, finance, healthcare, or commercial experience preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in medical technology, healthcare, or a related commercial environment, with exposure to pricing, sales, contracting, commercial enablement, deal strategy, and customer-facing business support.
  • Experience supporting large contracts, enterprise customers, or commercial opportunities, preferably involving multiple stakeholders, business units, or customer priorities.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage timelines, organize inputs, drive follow-up, and keep workstreams moving in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze information, connect insights, and contribute to practical commercial solutions that balance customer needs, business objectives, and operational feasibility. Creative problem-solver with the ability to think beyond standard approaches, simplify complexity, connect dots across teams, and bring order to ambiguity when the path forward is not obvious.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and relationship-building skills, with the ability to build trust across functions, navigate competing priorities, and maintain productive relationships in fast-moving commercial discussions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required, particularly PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook, with demonstrated analytical capability to manage deal models, interpret data, create polished presentations, develop clear written materials, and coordinate communications effectively.
  • Knowledge of Baxter’s product portfolio, IDN customers, contracting models, or healthcare technology markets preferred; strong learning agility and curiosity required.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
