The Communications and Marketing Associate drives strategic and project execution for Converge Strategies' communications and events functions across a fast-moving, multi-project environment. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented communicator who can shape event strategy and logistics, manage a digital presence that reflects the firm's professionalism, and own work plans from kickoff to completion. This person will juggle multiple workstreams, engage internal and external stakeholders, and deliver a high-quality experience for everyone who interacts with the firm.
The Associate will collaborate closely with the Communications and Marketing team and work across the full breadth of Converge Strategies’ project and business development activity. CSL offers a fully remote or hybrid working environment with a supportive culture dedicated to maintaining a sustainable, balanced workweek. Anticipated required travel up to 25%.
Key Areas of ResponsibilityEvents Logistics and Convening Coordination
- Partner with project leads to define the purpose, objectives, and audience for each conference and event, and keep it on track toward its strategic goal.
- Set impact goals for convenings and meetings, and track metrics on quality, consistency, and attendee experience across CSL projects.
- Translate project priorities into event formats and agendas, recommending the appropriate modality and scale based on the objectives, audience, and available resources.
- Design, coordinate, and order event materials, from identifying collateral needs to managing production timelines.
- Manage technology integration for events, including websites, surveys, and RSVP tools.
- Coordinate with external event planners and venue contacts, capturing action items and next steps.
- Be available for on-the-ground event execution as needed, in coordination with the team.
Communications and Digital Presence
- Source thought leadership content from internal and external stakeholders — articles, testimonials, white papers, webinars — that aligns with the firm's mission.
- Create and publish social media content across LinkedIn, X, and YouTube tied to firm events, speaking engagements, and team activity, including editing copy and producing supporting graphics and short videos.
- Use data analytics to sharpen communication and outreach strategy, including regular LinkedIn profile audits, performance metric pulls, and ongoing engagement optimization.
- Manage website content end-to-end: publish new material, maintain page accuracy, and build out the archive of past content.
- Draft the firm newsletter, synthesizing activity from across the team.
Project Management and Planning
- Develop presentations, one-pagers, and decks to support project deliverables.
- Generate work plans with milestones, roles and responsibilities, and meeting agendas, then own execution end to end by tracking dependencies, resolving issues, and leading coordination with internal teams and external partners to keep every contributor aligned.
- Anticipate risks and develop contingency plans to keep events and initiatives on track when circumstances change.
- Build, monitor, and track individual event budgets, and manage vendor RFPs, contract proposals, and day-to-day costs, with support from the Business Operations team.
- Knowledge of and passion for CSL's mission.
- 1–3 years of professional experience in communications, events coordination, public affairs, marketing, or a related field. Experience in the energy, defense, or national security space is a plus but not required.
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in communications, marketing, public relations, political science, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience managing social media channels and websites, including drafting content, tracking performance metrics, and maintaining publishing cadence.
- Experience coordinating logistics for professional events, including vendor and venue coordination, attendee management, and event technology tools.
- Strong written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex subject matter into clear, accessible content for professional audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams and shifting priorities, anticipating roadblocks and proposing solutions independently.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with a track record of following tasks through from coordination to completion.
- Exemplary customer service skills when interacting with event attendees and other external parties.
- Fluency with systems and software needed for our approach: event registration software, digital meeting platforms, CRM software, polling and survey software, Canva, AI tools, Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides), and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

CompensationConverge Strategies, LLC, offers a competitive salary, vacation, and benefits package, including health insurance and retirement benefits (including 401(k) matching). This is a full-time, salaried position. The target annual salary range for this role is $68,000 - $75,000, with final compensation determined by experience and qualifications. Employees are eligible for an annual incentive under the CSL Annual Incentive and Merit Plan.
