About the Role

We have an exceptional opportunity for an accomplished Associate Client Services Director to join our publications division at Nucleus Global. As a senior leader within the client services team, you will provide strategic direction and oversight across a portfolio of publication accounts—ensuring scientific excellence, operational efficiency, and outstanding client partnerships.

This role is ideal for a proven medical communications professional who combines deep publications expertise with strong leadership, commercial acumen, and a passion for team development. You’ll play a key role in guiding publication strategy, nurturing client relationships, and driving growth across your business unit.

 

What You’ll Be Doing

As an Associate Client Services Director, you’ll lead multiple teams and clients, providing high-level strategic consultation and ensuring the seamless delivery of complex, global publication programs.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing strategic leadership across a portfolio of publication accounts, ensuring all programs align with client objectives, industry standards, and scientific integrity.
  • Acting as a trusted senior advisor to clients, fostering long-term partnerships through strategic insight, communication excellence, and commercial understanding.
  • Overseeing the planning, execution, and quality of publication deliverables, including manuscripts, abstracts, congress presentations, and related materials.
  • Leading and developing a team of Account Directors and Managers, setting priorities, supporting career growth, and ensuring high performance across all client accounts.
  • Driving financial and operational performance, including budget oversight, SOW development, forecasting, and resource optimization.
  • Identifying opportunities for organic account growth and actively contributing to new business development, proposal strategy, and pitch presentations.
  • Collaborating with scientific and editorial leaders to ensure adherence to Good Publication Practice (GPP) and industry compliance standards.
  • Championing best practices, process improvements, and innovation within the publications function to enhance quality, efficiency, and client satisfaction.

 

About You

You’re an established leader in medical communications with a proven track record of guiding publication strategy, leading teams, and growing client partnerships.

You will have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in life sciences (advanced degree preferred).
  • 8+ years of experience in medical communications, with extensive expertise in publications planning, execution, and strategic oversight.
  • Demonstrated success in leading client teams and managing senior-level direct reports.
  • Strong commercial and financial management skills, including experience with budgeting, forecasting, and SOW development.
  • Excellent relationship management and influencing skills, with the ability to engage clients at the most senior levels.
  • A deep understanding of GPP guidelines and the evolving publications landscape.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to balance scientific excellence, client service, and operational performance.

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. This range may differ based on your experience and skill set, geographic location, and cost of living considerations. We consider compensation more than just a base salary – that’s why we also offer an exceptional range of flexible benefits, personal support and tailored learning and development opportunities all designed to help you realize your full potential both in life and at work.

$130,000$165,000 USD
