Pathstone has created an Associate Program to be an entry point to a career in Advisory at our firm. As part of this program, Associates will develop the skills and experience to work with some of the most complex and sophisticated families in the wealth management industry. The program combines a combination of hands-on experience as well as a week-long formal learning program with other Associates from our offices across the country. This program is ideal for passionate and engaged individuals who have an interest in a career in wealth management and have the interpersonal skills and results orientation to actively contribute to the Pathstone team and culture.


Job Description:

Assist the Client Advisory Team(s) in all manners of client service and daily operations, as well as special projects. Primary responsibility is supporting the daily operations of individual Client Teams. This can include completing account applications, preparing fund subscription documents, accounting and reporting maintenance, and assisting in the development of client presentation materials. In addition, the Associate will collaborate with client teams to process money movements and execute trades within accounts, while following the process through in tandem with the firm’s Capital Markets Group. Associates manage task flow and record keeping inside our firm’s CRM ensuring we have accurate and timely execution.

Through the evolution of an Associate’s CareerPath, there will be opportunities for further professional development through internal programs at the firm and by studying for a professional certification (CFP, CFA).


Location & Timing:

Due to Pathstone’s fast growth, we have associate positions available in many of our office locations. The specific placement will be determined as part of the hiring process. 


Potential locations include:

  • Alexandria, VA (DC Metro)
  • Los Angeles, CA
  • Newtown Square, PA (Philly Metro)
  • Potomac, MD (DC Metro)

 

While there are various potential locations for new associate placement, this post is for consideration in our Los Angeles, CA office with a start date in the summer of 2026.


Learning Program:

Pathstone provides our teammates with development opportunities empowering them to be their best selves in their current and future roles. Through an immersive in-person learning experience, our Client Advisory Associates spend a week collaborating and learning alongside peers from across the country. The Learning Objective for this training is to reinforce an Associate’s core Roles & Responsibilities through live simulations while also providing opportunities to foster deeper connections with peers and Subject Matter Experts across departments.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Prior experience in the financial management industry, specifically Client Operations and Administration, and past full-time office experience is a plus, but not required for recent graduates
  • Basic understanding of investments including mutual funds, separately managed accounts, and alternative investments is preferred
  • Solid analytical, quantitative, problem-solving, and client service skills
  • Detail-oriented and ability to handle time-sensitive issues
  • Strong Microsoft Office suite skills, particularly Excel
  • A positive attitude and initiative in all aspects of the position
  • The ability to prioritize tasks in the face of competing demands
  • Engaged in learning and growing, and motivated to take on new challenges
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Pay Transparency:

Pathstone’s expected starting base compensation range for the position as of the time of this posting is $65,000 - $72,500 per year. The actual base compensation selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including (but not limited to) experience, education, specialty and training. The successful candidate(s) may also be eligible for a discretionary bonus award.
